Toshiba Laptop Problem

A number of the keys on the right hand side of my laptop will not work, including the arrows, enter and question mark. I was wondering if anyone knows what is wrong with it and what the best solution would be. Thank you!

How can i go in boot option

Normally when you power on your Toshiba Satellite laptop it attempts to boot the operating system installed on its hard drive.
In some instances you may want to boot the Satellite laptop from a different device, such as an operating system installation CD or a USB drive.
The boot order doesn't have to permanently be set to the hard drive.
It's possible to access the boot order before the operating system loads and change which device is set to boot first.

Turn off the Toshiba Satellite laptop.
Turn it back on immediately and wait for the "press the F2 key to enter Setup" entry to show up on the screen.
Press the "F2" key to access the Toshiba Satellite's BIOS menu.
Use the right arrow key to navigate to the BIOS tab labeled "Boot."

Scroll down to the option labeled "Boot Priority" and tap Enter.
Check through the list of devices and locate the specific device you want to use to Boot your Toshiba laptop, such as "CD-ROM," "USB" or "LAN."

Highlight the name of the device in the list and then tap Enter to make it the top boot priority.
Use the right arrow key again to scroll over to the "Exit" BIOS menu.

Tap the down arrow key to highlight the "Save and Exit" option.
Press Enter to save the new boot order and restart your Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Repeat the procedure when you want to change the boot order back to its original setting.

Just been given a ASUS Eee PC 900, with Linux. It says press the Enter Key, but I can not find a Enter Key as such. What key do I have to press.? Driving me crazy

Well, the Enter key is the one with the symbol of a left-pointing arrow with a short 'up bit' on the right-hand side of it. I think its to the right of the @ sign and on the same row. Incidentally the OTHER left-pointing arrow without the up bit on it is the backspace. Thats up above the Enter key also on the right-hand side of the keyboard. Regards, nicam49

My dell laptop model is dell xps1530 .i want to install win 7 but my internal dvd drive is not working i can used external usb drive with instalation but i dont no how in boot form usb booting

1. In case you want to perform a clean install (format hard drive and install a new windows...note that you will lose data so i suggest doing a back-up first), connect your usb drive to your laptop and put in your cd installer. Restart your laptop. When you see the dell logo, press F12 then release. (you have to really watch for it as the alloted time to do so is very small as you may have already noticed.) keep doing the press and release on the F12 key until a boot menu appears. Use your arrow keys to select the boot device to boot from (in this case, your external dvd drive)...

2. If that does not work, restart your laptop then go to the setup by pressing F2 when you see the dell logo (again, you really have to watch for it). when you are in, use arrow key to navigate to "system". press enter to expand the selection. Then use the arrow key again and select boot sequence. press enter. on the right side of the window, you will see the list / boot sequence. use arrow key to select usb external storage device. Then press U to move it to number one (see bottom screen for menu on navigation). When it is on number one, press enter. This will take you back to main menu. Press Esc key then choose save and exit. Your Laptop will then restart on your usb drive...watch for the "press any key to boot from cd..." then follow the instruction on windows 7 installation. Hope that helps...

THE LAPTOP WORKS FINE BUT THE SCREEN IS VERY DARK

Every laptop that is coming to the market has a button the bottom left just next to the "Crtl" button. This button says "Fn". On the other hand please find the buttons that are marked with dark Sun or a white sun. These buttons are for decreasing or increasing brightness. Just press down the "Fn" key (or button) and then press the key with the white sun on it. The brightness of the laptop screen will increase.
The keys with sun symbol on it are usually the arrow keys.

Good Luck!
