Question about Canon PowerShot G5 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Embarassingly stupid question

On my Canon PS G5 how do I confirm yes to a question? For example, Erase All ? or Erase? referring to a single picture. How do I say yes? Requires the opposite of a guru to answer this.
Thanks
Mike

How can I delete individual images from my camera?

Press the review button to view your images. Navigate to the picture you wish to delete then press the delete button, it should look like a little rubbish bin. The camera will confirm the delete, so navigate to "yes" and hit [OK].

You should refer to your instruction manual for any further questions about using your camera and navigating its software.

The best way is to format the card. WARNING: This will erase ALL pictures on the card.

Press the HOME button. Touch the wrench&screwdriver icon to enter the SETUP Menu. Touch the Next area repeatedly until you see the  "Format" option. Touch the memory card area to enter the Format menu. Touch left-arrow to select OK/Cancel. Press the MENU/OK button to confirm. At the prompt, select "YES."

Refer to page 23 of the manual.

I have a Canon Power Shot A580 i just want to erase some photos from the camera thats it

Put the camera in picture review mode. Then use the zoom to bring up thumbnail diplays. Use the up/down, right/left buttons to navigate to the individual picture that you want to erase. Then press the "trashcan" button on the back of your camera. Select yes when it asks if you want to delete this picture.

Alternately you can delete all the pictures by again selecting picture review mode, pressing "menu", then scrolling to "erase all" pictures.

I want to erase a video, but not "erase all images"

Careful, the way you're doing it would actually erase everything. Use that way only after you've downloaded all your pictures and videos to your computer.

The way to erase a single image or video is to go into picture/video review mode. Advance so that you can see the video you want to delete on your LCD screen. Then press the "trashcan" button on the back of your camera once. It may ask you "delete this video?". Select "yes".

Deleting Images from the camera

You can do it in the computer is that is your route with a card reader. But deleting single images should be routine What does the manual say?- remember there is usually a more comprehensive manual on the software disk. Also 'Delete' may be referred to as something else 'Edit' for example
