Question about Toshiba Satellite M45-S355 Notebook

Broken AC connector

My laptop will not charge and I believe that my connector welds may be broken. Can you tell me how to get the case off of my Satellite M45? I have removed all of the screws; do I need to remove the hard drive as well. The case is loose on one side but not at the front and right sides.

I get no response when connected to AC/DC adapter. PC has not been "on" better than a year. I am using a substitute adapter as mine is misplaced. The specs on the HP adapter are identical to OEM Toshiba. Can the battery be in state of DEEP discharge? Any advice appreciated, Be Well John

You may have a DC connector problem:

Symptoms of a broken power jack
1. If you wiggle the power cord or the AC Adapter connector on the back of the laptop, the power LED and battery charge LED start to flicker.
2. Battery will not charge in the laptop.
3. Laptop runs fine off a charged battery.
4. With the AC Adapter connected the laptop appears to be dead.
No power LED or battery charge LED activity.
5. Laptop randomly powers off without any warning.

If your laptop is out of warranty, then you can fix the problem by re-soldering DC-IN jack on the system board. If it

I have dell 1318 notebook from last 7 days some times its not charging plz tell me solution

It would appear that you have a broken connection on the power connector on the motherboard of the laptop or a broken wire on the AC adapter. Repair of the connector on the motherboard could run about $125-$150 at a trustworthy repair shop. AC adapter replacement may be $25 over EBay.

If this information was helpful, please give a high rating. Thanks.

I am trying to access the area where the power plugs into the laptop. I believe this is loose or broken.

Hello

This is a common part to break. Either the connector has broken away from the board or the connector itself is broken. In either case the unit has to be stripped down to expose the motherboard. If you're not comfortable repairing this then you can send it to me or take it to a local repairperson. I would charge $50.00 labor + parts (if needed) and shipping.

Good luck

My fun has problems withritation and the laptop haets up

what i understand you are telling me you can;t charge your battery or use your laptop ac power to use your laptop.
If this is correct i would believe you need a new connector on the inside of your laptop where your ac power plugs in.Thats why battery not charging and no power.
The only other cause would be power supply failure.
Your battery settings are in control panel display screensaver
where you can change to default
