Change drum on Sharp AL1642CS?

Drum change indicator light is on. What are the steps for changing the drum? Can it be done without taking to a repair shop? Excuse me for being ignorant but I do not understand the reset instructions. I do not know what is meant by density reset, I do not see the appropriate buttons or either I do not understand how to interpret the buttons. Could you please explain this to me as if I was a 5 year old. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Replace the drum per the instructions enclosed. Open the right door of the copier. Remove drum by grabbing it from the locking mechanism. Be careful not to tilt the drum out of the copier. It could have toner inside of it.

Remove drum from the packaging and carefully insert it using the lower right rail as a guide. It it isn't lined up properly, you could scratch the drum. Once the drum is locked into place. Close the right door.

Press the # * C * keys on the copier.

Press 24 and the green button

Press 07 and the green button

Press the gress button again.

This will clear the drum usage counter.

Press the CA button.

Your drum is now changed and the counter has been reset.

The machine i have is KONICA MINOLTA DI251OF.The light for the drum unit is on even after the drum been change. How can i get the light to turnoff

Was the developer also changed? Because who ever change the drum did it wrong. The first thing you do before you remove the old drum is cleared the drum counter, seems that was not done now the copier thinks the new drum is old and is applying the required voltages for a old drum even though the drum is new will have image problems and codes soon. Recommend you get a new drum, cleaning blade, and developer and replace them all their are normally done at the same time, because in a few week the developer will the go and so drum unit will show up a again. make sure you clear the counters first then install the parts and make sure you run the required F8 in service mode. Utility/Counter, Details then. stop00 stop01 for service mode. Under Function for F8 and counter for clearing developer drum image section which should be done after every forth drum the developer unit that hoses the drum and developer.

We have a Brother HL 2140 series the printer will not print. It has a new toner cart. The drum light is lit . Any suggestions?

This machine has a separate drum and toner cartridge. Replacing the toner does not reset the drum light. Double check that the light on is, in fact, the drum light, and if it is, replace the drum unit. This should resolve your problem.
In order to replace the drum unit, do this: 1) With the printer on and the drum light blinking, open the front cover. 2) Press and hold the Go button for about 4 seconds until all the LEDs light up. Once all LEDs light up, release the Go button. 3) Pull the print assembly out of the machine. 4) Push down the green lock lever to take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit. 5) Put the toner cartridge into the new drum unit. 6) Reinsert the print assembly into the machine. 7) Close the front cover and verify that the lights turn off.
It is theoretically possible that you could reset the counter without actually changing the drum by simply skipping steps 3-6 above, but I have never tried it before and Brother may be checking a chip on the drum unit to verify that it is, in fact, a new drum unit. If they are, you will have to actually replace the unit to make the light go off. I would strongly recommend against resetting the counter without actually changing the drum though, as your print quality will degrade and the machine may start to dump toner into the inside creating a rather large mess and a hefty repair bill.

Canon np 1010 copier

There is a Drum UNIT for your machine that I think is User friendly. Just order the Canon Brand, and if the unit is User Friendly, they place instructions on how to replace it in your machine. Your best bet is to find a company online that has a Canon Brand Drum unit in stock, and also a toll free phone number, and when you call them up, ask them if the drum unit is User Friendly (Customer Replaceable) if so, then order the drum unit (not just the drum by itself, but the unit is recommended) and replace the unit. This should take care of the line problem that you are having.

IF you want to be sure about the lines on the drum, get a flashlight and look inside the machine and on the drum. After making a copy and having lines show up on your copy, turn the machine off, open the front door, and machine. Look inside with a flashlight by the drum. If you see lines on the drum, then you know the problem is in the drum unit.
Hope this helps.
FYI, Canon Drum units on a couple sites goes for 95.00 - 125.00.
Good luck.
