I have Toshiba Satellite A 100 which is not booting and does not show
the boot screen . I have put a user password in BIOS and in abscence
of boot screen I am unable to start the system.When Power is switched
-on,the display screen lits -up without any characters/logo/Cursor and
the CAPS lock and other two keys blink on the key-board.The the
Function keys do not respond but gives a beep sound. I have tried to
run System Restore DVD but the system could not be booted probably the
booting sequence is required to be changed first.Please give our advise.

I have found the soloution of this problem. Check your usb port .
Their is shortage in the USB port. You just check the usb port.
Definately their is usb port pins attached each other. Just open

Sounds like you have a "loose connection" in your lappy, thats NOT acceptable with a new unit.
I suggest ya take it back to the shop and quietly "read em the riot act"... and get replacement or repair...... A repacement would be the most desireable outcome, as far as I would be concerned, Claiming under the "Manufacturers Defect" side of things.
One should NOT have to "Hit" any device to make it work.. more so when new!
