My ISP is Mediacom and since I began using them I have had the same RCA / Thomson 425 Modem. This was years ago and during that time I have made the upgrade to "wireless network", 802.11g to...

Firstly it makes no difference if you have a wireless network on 802.11n unless all the devices on the network are using 802.11n adapters. This means if you have a router or a wifi phone working on basic 802.11g (55mbs data) the whole network will run at the speed of the slowest device.

Now about the Thomson modem DCM425 and the ISP service. The maximum speed Docsis 2.0 protocol can support is 38mbps. The maximum Docsis 3.0 offered in US is around 120mbs. The Max service offers about 20mps (see link) which means you are within the capacity of the cable modem.

Hope this helps.

Which lead do you need? a Network cable or the power or the lead to the filter into the phoneline?

Power - Have a look on ebay and see if somebody has a 2nd hand router going for sale, you'll probably find that buying a new router is cheaper than getting hold of a proper power supply from linksys. The other thing you could try is look next to the socket and see if there is a voltage and polarity symbol in which case you could try run it from a universal adapter with the same settings.

Network cables/Filters/Phone Line leads - Try ebay again or somewhere like

I cannot access an Internet in one of my computers

if you are using dynamic ip address makes sure in that computer that are not connecting has no static ip address, go to my network places and hit propertis, and select tcp ip4 and hit properties, make sure its selected as dynamic not static, if this not working this means, there is cable problem, or network card problem. or try to change the port from the router could be the router port is bad.

Good luck

Stuff like this varies in wiring both outside and inside your home, try getting a data telephone cord (usually gray and thicker that a regular phoneline or a good phoneline, the length of your ethernet cable, the distance between your company's service providing plant and your house. AOL Broadband Cable

The following routers are the only models that support the AOL Broadband Cable service. Note: All Linksys routers support AOL DSL connections due to the standard PPPoE login and authentication connection type used with that service. Please be sure to check the version number of your router (which can be found on the underside label). Only the specific models and versions listed here are supported by AOL Cable: * BEFW11S4 * BEFW11S4 v2, v3, and v3.2 * BEFSR41 * BEFSR41 v2 * BEFSR11 * BEFSRU31 * BEFSR81 * BEFSR81 v2 * HPRO200 (Available from AOL only at this time) You must Enable the "AOL Parental Controls" option located in the Security tab of the web-based Setup utility pages of these routers in order to get a connection using AOL Cable. You may access the utility by visiting in a web browser and by logging in using the router's password (by default, the password is admin).

Daisy-Chaining a HomeLink Phoneline Network

With a HomeLink card installed in your PC, connect your PC to a phone jack using a standard phone cable. Using another standard phone cable, connect the card's other phone cable port to connect to your second PC. Continue to connect up to twenty-five PCs in this way on one chain. If you want to use your telephone, modem, or fax machine, add a two-way splitter to your wall?s phone jack or connect the device to the empty phone jack in the last card at the end of your daisy chain. Daisy-chaining your HomeLink PCs and peripherals can create a simple network that acts in the same way an Ethernet network acts on your PC's desktop. In a HomeLink network, data passes into one side of a port, and continues out from the port?s other side. You can string up to 25 PCs on a single HomeLink network, provided that the entire length of cable does not exceed 150 meters (500 feet). HomeLink networks can send data through existing telephone lines without disrupting your telephone service. If you have PCs on two different floors of your house, plug one of the downstairs PCs into the phone jack in the wall, and you're able to network your PCs upstairs without running excessive amounts of extra cable.
