To the best of my knowledge, you cannot change the OS on that notebook as it is an embeded system. The Gsystem is burned into a chip on the mother board and the only way at present is to reprogram a like chip and solder it in place after de-soldering the old chip. Then you would have to buy another embeded system and learn to program an EEprom chip.
I am assuming you are trying to read a SD card from a phone or a sim card. If it is an SD card it will be a micro SD. You will need an adapter to make it a full sized SD card and then it will in the card slot on your laptop If it is the sim card you would need a special machine for that and there is nothing there but the phone's codes anyway. You should be able to find a cheap micro SD card at CompUSA - I think about $6 - $8, and it should come with the adapter. JC
How did you managed to do that? Once I had a similar problem, when a friend of mine inserted microSD into laptops SD cardreader slot. We got it out with two toothpicks, but be careful not to damage card's reading cells.
I had the same problem, read some of the proposed solutions and came up with one that worked for me! Here it is: (1) cut a piece of duct tape that is about half the width of the slot and a couple of inches long (2) use a small flat head screwdriver and depress the card down, so that a small gap is created above the card (3) take a second small flat head screwdriver and force the tape into the gap above the card - adhesive side towards card (4) continue to work the tape into the gap so that it covers as much of the card as possible (5) remove the screwdrivers and gently pull on the tape until the card is removed!
gant really help on the sd prob.sd usually push in to insert and push in again to remove.
cant imagine how you can get cd stuck between rom and chassis.anyway if you look closely at your rom you will see a small hole.you push a thin piece of wire into this to eject the rom hopefully giving you more room to play with and remove disk.a paperclip made straight is an ideal tool for this.
as for repair;tell me your model and i'll check to see if I have it
I have nearly all hp service repair manuals, some toshiba and ibm
Hi... Remember that the SD card has a little slot at the center we'll use that to retrieve the card. First, find a "medium safety pin" and straightened it and on the sharp edge, use a plier to make a little hook... Use that to pull it out....
Use an extended card holder to insert the SD card because the design is for the mini stick SD card...
