Disconnect all storage devices, and stay "flat" with motherboard, CPU, memory and video chip (PCIE or onboard). Try to detcet and check up some warming on the chipset. Cold chips? Prepare your self for new motherboard, sorry! Try another PCIe graphics card at the end. Do you trust to your power supply.

My computer wont start up. The power supply light flashes green when plugged in then red. But still nothing , can someone please help?

Try a Power Supply Unit (PSU) Reset: Unplug the electrical cable from the wall and the PSU (Back of Computer)
Move the red voltage selector to the opposite position it is in and then slide it back. If you live in the USA 120Vac to 220Vac back to 120Vac
After you have done this you can plug the power cable back into the PSU. Connect the power cable to the wall power. If the PSU is still serviceable it will no longer be blinking.

Does not power up

I've never seen or heard of a power supply unit (PSU) that has replaceable fuses or a circuit breaker. Usually, if they are working properly, they automatically reset and start up when any problem circuits are fixed (bad connections, overloaded, overheated, not connected). Usually, if it won't start, it is a bad PSU.

If PSU, CPU, and case fans turn on, the PSU is working. One other thing is required: the POWERGOOD signal in the PSU turns on. When this signal is not on, it keeps the CPU in a constant reset state. It turns on only after all the PSU voltages reach their correct levels. For example, it is possible that the +12v works the fans OK, but if the +3v for the motherboard is out of range, the POWERGOOD signal will not go on.

You can try another known good power supply to see if it works. If so, then you need a new PSU. If not, you've got to do full troubleshooting which requires experience.

Standby blinking green button went off and now cannot turn on. cord connection ok and eveything unplugged that might interfere

I guess your power supply died. try to disable the power supply and enable it again (switch behind the tower) otherwise you should get it checked out by a professional.

My computer wont turn on

take out the psu completely from the cpu/tower, plug in the power cord,if there is a switch on the psu turn it on, next locate the main power connector (24pin) and find green wire, take a piece of wire and insert it into the green wire connector, next touch the other end of the wire to the psu outer case or a black wire on the main connector,if all is well the psu will turn on,if you have a dc voltage tester check the voltages on the red and black wires on molex connector...5vdc,yellow and black...12vdc.if ok look at the main board and inspect the capacitors to see if they are swollen, if ok
replace psu and disconnect hdd,cd/dvd,floppy ect from main board only leave memory, processor and video, power on if ok shut off and reconnect hdd, power on, if ok shutoff and connect floppy, if ok power off and connect cd/dvd drive.during this testing you will know what is bad.let me know how it turns out.email; arjoon.ken@gmail.com

Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo 600. No power to processor.

Probably a PSU failure, although it could just be your power switch. Try shorting the power switch connections on the motherboard, if that doesn't work, replace the PSU with a standard ATX PSU. They're relatively cheap.

HP won't power on at all~PSU light blinking, then solid, then off

Dead short on the machine causing the power supply to go into shutdown (Fold Back Protection)

Remove all of the connectors coming from the power supply (Label them so that you know here they go back to on the Motherboard and the DVD etc (Including the processor fan one)

Place all of them back one at a time starting with the main one if the led stays on then plug in another till you locate the short.

If the led dies when you plug in the main MB connector then you are in deep brown stuff

All you can do then is to remove the Ram and any other unpluggable device to see if that is the cause

Psu blinking green light, no power

I read all the solutions, followed the manufacturers instructions exactly, replaced the cmos battery and nothing solved the problem (blinking light on PSU after a power failure and no startup at all). I had ascertained that the PSU was intact by disconnecting all the PSU connections to drives and motherboard at which time the PSU LED stopped blinking and was constantly on.
Just before throwing my computer away I decided to follow the instructions listed by "guest" to unplug the power to the motherboard and then with the power supply back on to plug the cables back into the motherboard. No only did sparks not fly, but it started up and ran perfectly! Many thanks to "guest."
