Check the gas tank cap, there should be a small hole to let air in as the fuel is used. If it's blocked air cant get in and as fuel is used a partial vacuum forms in the tank, the fuel stops running and the motor dies.

Sounds like you checked everything but the gas can.

Check the gas tank cap, should have a smal hole to let air in. If it's blocked air cant enter the tank to replace fuel as its used and you get a partial vacuum in the tank and the fuel stops flowing.

There could be some type of contaminate in your fuel/lines. Check for that!
Then check your fuel filter. and hoses.

Your carb needs to be rebuilt!

See below

A couple things, is it full of grass and hay up top that would cause it to overheat? Or the fuel filter got clogged up from debris in the tank. Or the governor spring came off, loose, make sure it moves freely, and then check the air filter. Then before filling the tank up, peek in there with a flash lite and see if there is any water floating in the bottom. Then check the spark plug. Hope one of these helps.

I would take the bowl off the bottom of the carb.. Probably you have clogged up holes that let the gas into the bowl.Or either the needle is stuck up not allowing the gas to flow...That's why pouring gas in carbs would let it run for s few seconds....Also try fresh gas..Gas doesn't have led in it anymore..It don't last year from year...After grass season is over..Buy some from Lowe's or home depot..Pour it into your tank and let the motor run to get it done into the carburetor...Then the next year it will start

it sounds like you may have a vapor lock on your fuel tank   there should be a diaphragm on the inside of the fuel cap  that lets air in but not out   it may have an air hole clogged  take the cap apart if you can and clean it real good and put it back together   if that is not it  then the float in your tank may be stuck   or a fuel line filter may be clogged

Toro Lawn Mower Won't Start

this is a very common problem with these toro mowers. the needle valve in the bowl of the carb. is plugged up with dirt or varnish from the fuel. just under the primer bulb there is the carb bowl. it has a nut under it that holds it on remove the bowl and make sure fuel flows constantly while the bowl is off. push up on the float to stop the gas flow. this could be messy and dangerous. careful with the gas. its flammable. best solution is to remove the carb and soak it overnight in a parts cleaner like gunk. caution small parts inside. this happins every year on mine no matter what i do. seems like the orifice is so small it clogs easily. good luck
