My printer 2600n is printer continious pages....

The printer is installed in a network. I can print a testpage but other printjobs are not working...in the printspool the printer shows more and more prints of the same printjob (if i do not cancel the jobs there are more then 1000)...but prints nothing. Anyone knows how this is possible?

Hi,

You can restore the printer as factory setting by pressing Left & Right button & restart the printer. Then again configure the printer may be it will work.

Thanks

How to eliminate print test page at each startup?

first take the USB cable out of your computer, then put it off and then on again...it starts to print the test page again...then after the printer stops printing, put the just printed testpage face down on the scanner(glas) and press scan manually...after the scanning(you wait till that is finnished) and then put the printer off and on again....then connect the USB cable to the computer and that will stop the printer from printing the testpage every time you startup your printer....

Can't print to HP 2600n over network

The LaserJet 2600N has a built-in print server and can be connected to the local network (normal ethernet cable) directly. While printer sharing via Windows should work, I found it much more convenient to access it without the need of a hosting computer - you do not need to switch on the desktop PC for printing from the Laptop, for example, its also printing faster.

Printing characters

If the characters are on the top of each page there is an invallid printjob in your system. Make sure you remove all printjobs on your pc('s) before restarting the printer.

I keep getting memory full and it wont clear so I can print. How do I clear the memory.

Power on the printer without the printer or networkcable attached. Check if you can print a test page. If this works there is a printjob in the system that should be deleted before connecting the printer to your computer or network.

Strange Printer Issue - HP Laserjet 2600n

The last time I checked, you cannot set up a local printer using a TCP/IP port. A local printer is physically connected to a computer via a parallel, serial (very old), or USB cable. If the printer is connected to a switch, hub, or router via an Ethernet cable, it is by definition a network printer and the driver install must reflect this. I don't understand why it is able to print out the test page after the install. If you open up Control Panel -> Printers and double-click on the HP Laserjet 2600n in there, it will bring up the local spooler for the printer. You may have a bunch of print jobs queued up in there that it cannot currently send to the printer. You may want to clear the queue first (cancel all print jobs). Let me know if you have problems clearing the queue & I can give you instructions on how to do that one too.

Duplicate images through page?

on all printjobs? sounds like bad toner cartridge

if the print out has rough or parts that can smudge real easy then it is the fuser

more likely the toner - cleaning blade not clearing old job before going onto the next part of the print job

HP Laserjet 2600n networking

When you print a test page from the general tab of the printer properties dialogue, it completely bypasses the print spooler. Since your test pages print correctly, this tells us quite a bit. Some of it good and some of it bad.

The Good:

The printers, base driver install, connections and protocols are all functioning correctly.

The Bad:

The printers, base driver install, connections and protocols are all functioning correctly making it much more difficult to pinpoint the problem.

JetDirect printing through the print spooler can be trouble prone with no clear solution. The fact that the 2600n is a host based GDI printer can make it even more so however I still have a couple of things to try.

1-Search for Localspl.dll and check the version number, file size etc. etc. If it is anything other than:

(32 bit x86)
Localspl.dll 5.2.3790.4046 342,016 23-Mar-2007 20:24 x86

Or:

(64 bit x64)
Localspl.dll 5.2.3790.4046 750,080 23-Mar-2007 22:15 x64

then request a copy of this file from Microsoft here:

https://support.microsoft.com/contactus2/emailcontact.aspx?scid=sw;[LN];1414&from=KBHotfix&WS=hotfix

See KB934885 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934885
for more info. You may want to try the registry tweak there to see if it can help pinpoint the problem as well.

2-Download the latest firmware for the 2600n from HP. There have been at least 2 firmware updates that I know of for this printer. I don't know if any of the updates fixed issues with network printing but at this point it can't hurt.
