Question about Canon PIXMA MP210 Photo All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

CANON PIXMA MP180

When I turn the printer on the on / off button and alarm button flash alternately and the led displays "scanner error" . There is no error code. I cannot access any of the units functions. I have tried the basics to fix it and the troubleshooting suggestions in manual haven't worked. Appreciate any help.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem as this user, and the solution (of pressing the restart button for 5 seconds) did not work.
    Please help,
    THanks

Got this problem straight out of the box and the 5 second reset button does nothing. Bought mine from Argos so I can always send it back but I'd rather not have to.

Have a canon mp 240 keeps flasing P and 3 and the alarm light and on button are also flashing......what the it wont scan it wont print does any one know what this means

When the Power and Alarm lamps flash alternately, and P and number (error code) are alternately displayed on the LED, an error requiring servicing might have occurred.

Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. Plug the power cord of the machine back in, and then turn on the machine. If the problem is not resolved, contact your Canon service representative.

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (DO NOT release the Power button.)

4) When the Power LED lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button the specified number of time(s) according to the function listed in the table below. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and
Power LEDs light alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.) [hth: I believe the power button has to be pressed once more after cycling the alarm button to complete the action. The power/resume-cancel button LEDs toggle to help you count.]

14 not used in servicing
15 Orange (alarm) return to the menu selection,.

Note: If the Resume/Cancel button is pressed 16 or more times, the Alarm or Power LED lights steadily without
any changes.

[hth: if the alarm light is flashing 15 times at turn-on [cartridge not recognized error], none of these procedures seem to work.

I really hope this can help you.

Best regards
