Well this sound similar to the problem I had a first with mine. Once I replaced one the next would be out and so on. but some where not out at all. I find when changing the carts remove them from the machine turn the computer off so no connection to the computer and remove the power from the wall. Replace them and do not plug into the computer and run a test print. My software on my computer produced a low ink warning which obviously its not so I pulled them out again used a Q-Tip Cleaned up the contacts on the ink carts and in the unit that I could reach.

The thing that I always worry about since working for HP's AIO Tech support department their ink carts had experation dates and would constantly fail.

Send the machine through all the cleaning processes and alignments ect.

and if the ink that was replaced with different ink than that which was origionally placed in the printer from Brother this might continue to produce these error.

so after messing around with my unit turning it on and off and doing a bunch of printing it finally leveled itself off since I never leave my printer on all the time.

Check and make sure all your carts are in properly.

give that a try and if that doesn't work let me know and I will post a secoundary solution for you.

Why when press color copy the non color not print are not being printed

If your question means that you are not getting "nice" color copy ... it may be possible that your (color) ink is running low or empty. For instance, if your black ink is low or empty, you will not get the black colors printed ...
So, check to see if your ink cartridges are running low or empty. And if so, see if a (new) replacement cartridge will give you the same result.

Lexmark x7170 changed ink cartridge. test sheet comes up great, print something and it says ink low. i tried to shut off 5x's to maybe reset/ reinstalled ink cartridges same message. cleaned heads

The Lexmark x7170 should let you continue printing with the ink cartridge regardless of the estimated ink with most cartridges. The only exception to this is if the cartridges are part of Lexmark's returns programme. I would advise removing the cartridge and checking for small text stating "Return Programme Cartridge" on the label. If this is present sadly there is no way of continuing, apart from buying a new cartridge.

With regards to the low ink estimate, am I right in assuming you are using a refilled or remanufactured ink cartridge? If so this is unavoidable but should not prevent you from printing until the ink physically runs out.

I just set up a new X5650 printer, and after a couple of print jobs, the printer says black and color ink low. I changed to brand new cartridges, and it still says the same thing. What should I do?

Some printer-vendors sell "half-full" ink-cartridges, to get you to _sooner_ buy replacement ink-cartridges.

Also, some printers need to be "told" (via software) that the ink-cartridge has either been replaced or refilled. Your printer could be one of those printers.

Replace your color cartridge and power printer on. The color cartridge is probably empty (even though there might be a little ink left in it). Many inkjet printers require the color cartridge for composite black even if you are not printing in color.

Keeps saying insert colour cartridge when we have just bought a new cartridge of correct spec. Says incorrect colour cartridge installed.Impossible to get past!!!

Hi,The most common reason for missing or incorrect colors is a print cartridge with one of the following problems:
  • One or more of the ink colors is empty. The black ink and all three colors of ink in the tri-color cartridge must be available or colors will be incorrect or missing. Under normal usage, the print cartridge will run low on one color of ink shortly before all ink colors are emptied.
  • The protective tape is not removed from a new cartridge.
  • Contacts on the cartridge are not making proper contact with the print carriage.
  • The cartridge is remanufactured or refilled.
  • The cartridge is defective.

Did you replace the ink cartridge with a new one, or did you refill an old one.

Some printers have a memory and can tell which ink cartridge is in them. This prevents them from easily being fooled into printing with refilled cartridges.

Another option is that you changed the ink cartridge without following the specific guidelines for replacement e.g. To replace the ink cartridge, select replace ink cartridge from the main menu, then open the printer panel when the light flashes X number of times.

You might also try unplugging the printer for a couple of minutes the reset it.

DCP-130C COLOR INKJET

When inserting a new cartridge, you may receive a prompt

"The installed ink cartridge differs from the original ink cartridge for the printer. Your printouts may be different from those printed using original ink cartridges. Do you want to continue using the currently installed ink cartridge?"

If you click Yes, printing will continue. If you select No, you will be prompted to change the cartridge. Manufacturer prompts may vary.

Not printing after color cartridge ran out - new black cartridge installed.

Yes, this printer has fixed printheads and must have ink in each color to prevent damage to the printheads. Even when printing black only each color is spit in the servicing area to keep the printhead unclogged.

HP Photosmart C3100 series

I just got off the HP help line.  After changing my black ink cartridge a test page was printing each time I turned the machine on.  This is very costly, in both time and ink as the cartridges themselves for this machine hold very little ink.  I tried to learn from HP tech how to turn off the test-print while keeping my color cartridge empty.  It turns out that you cant do it.  HP requires you to keep buying and using cartridges whether you need them or not.If you buy the color ink it will use it up in its testings.  And if you dont buy the color cartridge it will use up your black ink by printing the test each time you turn on the printer.  The printer was inexpensive sure, but I'm paying for it in wasted ink.
