My advice is not to as your bios would have been upgraded for vista and cause problems with drivers for your XP system

If you wish to install XP, install it on a seperate hard drive or partition to give you a dual boot choice as to whether you want to run XP or Vista.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

The only way to downgrade is to backup all you files you want to keep, and then do a new install of XP.

Unistalling Microsoft VISTA HOME Edition

Are booting the laptop from the XP CD? If so it should just give you an option to delete partitions then format and install starts. If you try installing XP after Vista has loaded it wont let you as XP is older. Cheers from Scott

Error installing XP after Vista

When you boot from your XP Installation CD, make sure you delete the primary partition, recreate it, then format C: with NTFS.

Gets error code 0x0000007B when I attempt to install XP on hp pavilion dv6-1245dx pre-installed with Vista

Nomally on a vista installed lap you will have reverse compatibility issues when you try to install xp cause vista is a newer editon than xp. So it would be advisible to use a virtual machine software to install xp inside vista.By doing this you can simultaneously run vista and xp at the same time.you can download free software line SUN VMWare.

Hp pavillion dv6000 laptop drivers for microsoft windows XP prof.

try to download belarc advisor software. Run this in your vista OS and send it to me so I can check your hardware specs. This is the only way to avoid problems in the future or before you start the formatting.

Operating system

first of all you will have to format your laptop cause when you have vista u cant install xp with it
u will have to install xp first and then install vista
about the driver u will have to do some settings in cmos setup and will have to change hdd type
that will solve your driver problem
so first install xp and then install vista
regarding drivers for xp u will have to visit hp website and chat with a online technical person and ask him to mail you the link for drivers for xp

You sound like you tried to install XP with Vista running - this will generate the message that you have received.

To install XP on your system, insert your XP disk into the computer and then restart it.

Select Boot From Disk during start up and this will lead you into the XP Installation.

Xp will not recognise Vista and will just overwrite it - deleting the current OS and formatting the C:\

Good luck.
