Wish to remove the Symantec ant virus as it is stopping emails from coming through on my compuyor. My server has its own ant virus

Go to add remove programs options and uninstall the antivirus software.

All you need to do is uninstall it from add/remove programs.

    if you are having trouble when you click the setup/uninstaller right click and select run as administrator. You shouldn't have too much of a problem. If you have a moment to accept and rate this solution accordingly I would greatly appreciate it.

I cannot get or send emails. my server is not working


This indicates either an incorrect password or server settings. Make sure your account is setup as follows:

IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 993 (this should be automatically populated if you tick the SSL Encryption)
SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)
Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part
Password: your btinternet password
Root folder/path:
Folder separator: . (full stop)
Please do NOT enable "secure password authentication" (SPA). It's not needed when you use SSL encryption and won't work.
If your IMAP client supports it, we recommend you also set up the following folders:
Trash
Sent Items
Drafts
POP3
Server: mail.btinternet.com

How to Remove Virus from laptop


Try using a WEB based virus removal program.
After you have removed the virus I suggest you install a virus protection program. There are a some freeware virus programs such as AVG and microsoft Security Essentials.

Hi,
Since you are almost struck even with an antivirus. I would recommend you to try an OS restore to a good know previous restore point. This could help because the virus might have affected the registry keys and its manual repair is very tedious job.

You can try to remove the virus first, and if this fails the reinstall Windows back to the original settings.

That is probably because a virus had corrupted the Norton Antivirus installed on your computer, or because the antivirus has expired.
Do the following:

  1. Check that Antivirus is not to be renewed
  2. Reinstall the Antivirus.
  3. Contact symantech
