Question about Hitachi Projection Televisions
SOURCE: flashing red light
I think this sounds like my problem (need to replace the projector lamp). However, when I hit the "on" button, my SXRD 50" blinks green for about a minute then starts blinking red. Can you confirm the bulb solution? I was very pleased with this sight when my fan malfunctioned. I got the fan in a matter of day's from Sony and it fixed that problem.

Hi, 5 times blink of standby light shows that TV needs White Balance adjustment. No need to dump it, adjustment is also not so difficult. Let me know if you want to give it a try to guide you.

You need the convergence ICs replaced they are soldered in so its very technical , a repair shop will charge between $230 and $400 to replace them. you can try the autofocus or manual adjustments, but probably need the ICs and possibly a few resistors too.
(2)STK392-110 or kit # X480293 comes with 2 ICs and some resistors

If the lamp has been replaced I would think the Lamp ballast would be most likliest followed by the color wheel and then the Digital board. You can get any part needed for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com just leave them a email they respond quickly.
