Problem associated to the booting sequence, the 'my computer window ' is divided into four fragmentations .at the floppy and dvd. thedvd is not highlighted therefore imposible to access thecd player

You mean the CDROM or DVDROM is not selectable as a booting option in the BIOS, right? There must be something wrong with the device, the driver or your BIOS. Is your hard disk still bootable? If so, you can boot in hard disk and see whether the DVD-ROM is still there and check the device manager of your Control Panel to see if any errors about it. If it is not working there, you can check whether all the cable connections are connected well and the jumper settings are fine. There could only be one master device on a single ribbon of the IDE interface. So if you have a hard disk and your DVD-ROM connected to the same ribbon and the jumper settings of both are set to master, you will need to adjust one of those settings to slave or cable selection. Then you can use the AutoDetect feature of your BIOS to detect the CD-ROM if available. If those are not working, you can uninstall and reinstall the driver of your DVD-ROM if available when you boot in hard disk and open device manager for hardware change scan or directly right click on the CD-ROM icon in device manager and select update driver then select the right driver downloaded from the manufacturer's web site. You can also plug that DVD-ROM to another computer and see whether it is working there to detect mechanic issues of it. If everything is working on the other computer about this DVD-ROM and it is not working on yours, you can also try to flash your BIOS and/or replace the ribbon and see if it works before you replace your motherboard.

If the harddisk conected in your system are not dected

"ASSUMING YOU ARE USING A SATA HDD"

check the bios settings.....

if your hard disk detection is enabled or not...

if yes...(yet your system is not detecting your hard drive)

then....go the manufacturer's site and download the respective sata driver of your hdd (particular model number)...

burn it into a cd...

insert the cd into a usb cd rom/writer.....

then try to install windows.... let the system boots from the cd

at the time when it says "press f2 to install driver"

press f2...

then browse to the location i.i. usb cd - rom/writer and install the driver...

now your system will detect your hdd...

if this info is useful

don' t forget to say thanks...

No matter what i do cd rom not detecting

check whether the powe plug has been inserted properly and the power plug is working fine. Even though if the power plug inserted is working fine and CD ROM not detecting means CD ROM was damaged.

How can i get rid of the compaq logo even after i format my hard drive .

The screen that I think you're referring to is the OEM BIOS splash screen.

This particular logo / image has nothing to do with your hard drive... it is embedded on a physical chip (EEPROM or ROMBIOS) on your motherboard.

It is possible to make modifications to this particular splash screen (through a hardware hack), but I don't recommend doing it. The screen shouldn't be a problem; it sounds like you might be experiencing a "Boot Order" issue.

I'm assuming you might be having problems with the Boot Order if you're having issues with loading your OS from CD. When you have the Windows CD in the CD ROM and you reboot the system, you should see the following message flash up on the screen (immediately following your OEM BIOS Splash screen):

"Press any Key to Boot from CD..."

If you don't see this message and your CD ROM Doesn't spin up and begin to load windows...you might have a Bad CD ROM, bad CD "Disc" or...you might not have your BIOS Boot Order set up correctly.

HOW TO FIX IT:

To get into the BIOS Setup on a Compaq Presario system, do the following:

When the OEM Logo Splash screen appears, press F1 to enter the BIOS Setup.
Note: On certain Compaq Presario PCs (prior to 2002) press the F10 key at the logo screen to enter setup.

To change the Boot order:

Here's the URL for Compaq's Online FAQ for Changing the Boot Order:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07110&lc=en&cc=us&lang=tr&man_lang=en&product=1843681&dlc=tr#N1310

Try changing the Boot Device Priority in the BIOS Setup: Make sure that the "CD ROM" entry is moved "Before" the entry for the Hard Drive and Network PXE:

Example Boot Order:
  1. CD ROM or Removable Media
  2. USB
  3. Floppy (if you have one)
  4. Hard Drive
  5. PXE (Network Boot)
This should help you load the OS successfully from CD (if you're not being presented with the "Press any Key to Boot from CD..." notification when rebooting with the Windows CD in the CD/ROM drive.

Please repost if this fixed your problem and rate my response!

Good Luck,

LounaTech
