Question about Lexmark X2250 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Computer says there is no ink cartridge

I have a Lexmark X2250 printer. My computer keeps saying that there is no ink cartridge. The first time it did this, I replaced the cartridge because the ink level was very low. This time there is no problem with ink levels. I have tried taking the cartridge out and putting it back in, but it doesn't make any difference. I can't print anything at the moment.

    Computer is suddenly saying that there is no cartridge, when there is one. I have taken it out and put it back, switched everything off anf on again and still not joy. Can anyone help, please?

    No ink cartridge? After switching printer off I get this message so I 'replace' cartridge with new and it goes through motions of printing but will not print.Done usual checks and noresult at all!

    Hey guys I have the same problem. If I uninstall the Lexmark software and drivers, then reinstall them, I am able to print, but [B]only once[/B}. If I try to print again, it doesn't recognize the ink cartridge.

OK guys, I don't know if this will work for you but it worked for me. Here it is:

  1. Uninstall all Lexmark software from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
  2. Reboot the computer as suggested by the uninstall software
  3. Start the ALL-In-One Installer
Now, the first thing the installer does is load the drivers to your hard drive.

4. When the driver is installed it will ask you what ink cartridges you have. Tell it which ones you have and say they are both brand new (even if one is empty or not new). If it asks you to align the printer or print a test page, say no!

After this is complete, the installer will begin to put in the other software (i.e. fax and scan). It will pause and ask you to click next, but do not do this.

5. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, select the installer task and click end task to stop the installation process.


6. When you print for the first time, it may ask you what cartridges you have installed again. Just select the cartridges you have installed select the option from the drop-down boxes that say that both cartridges are new.

    I believe you will need both cartridges installed for this to work, even if one is empty.

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

Is this a genuine lexmark cartridge? If so, please take it out and use a tissue paper to cover the bottom part and give the cartridge a gentle shake.
Then clean away the ink and put it back in.

My lexmark x2250 printer gives me error message no cartridges in machine, even though there are new ones in the machines. What can I do?


I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink or toner cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled (the absolute worst possible choice) or third party cartridges (2nd. Worst possible choice) that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks or toner causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead or photo conductors.
If you are using factory new ink or toner cartridges, then please call the manufacturer’s Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

My x2250 wont print the ink cartridges are both full what else could be wrong. It just prints blank pages.


Restart both the computer and printer. (Unplug the printer form the wall clearning the print cue.

Print a test page from the printer control panel
(Start button>control panel>printers and faxes>right click>select properties> print test page button)

Now if it prints there, then you have a problem with the program you are printing from. If not then

You have a bad driver (reinstall from the cd)

You have a bad cartridge (remanufactured cartridges or dirty or old or even unused cartridges will result in non functioning machine)

If none of those work, then your printer is flat broken.

Printer produces a poor copy


remove cartridges , take a q-tip w/alcohol and clean out ink ports where they drop ink onto the paprer the ports could be clogged with dry ink , thus preventing the new ink from reaching the paper. after you clean out the ink ports re-install the cartridges, and do alignment proceedures again this time color should be restored

take the cartridges out and clean them also clean where they go with a lint free cloth then replace them.
