I have an HP Photosmart E427 digital camera and when you slide the front over to turn on the camera, the camera seems to turn on but the display screen just looks dark blurry & cracked.

Same problem here, i upload the pics on my computer, then i turn off my cam, few minutes later try to turn it on, but no success, still have the blackscreen. I try to change the battery, reset it (15s without the battery, another 2 hours but no success), format the memory card (even without the memory the cam doesn't turn on).

I have been searching for nearly six months for replacement parts for several point and shoot digital cameras with no luck at all. I think the factory updates them so often it is not cost effective to maintain parts for them.

if you are a technical person or can handle the electronics then open it from the screws and see if the cable or points that connects battery to the circuitry are broken or desoldered or unwired...
if you cannt handle it so dont try.. get it repaired by a technical person near u...
