Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS100 27" TV

2 Answers

Sony KV-27FS100 I have a Sony KV-27FS100 TV that has no picture, but I do have sound and can change channels. The indicator LED blinks 4 times then repeats. I'm told that this is likely a problem with IC561 (TDA8172). I measured 1.1V at pin #2 of IC561 and 0 volts on pin 9 of the flyback (not sure which was pin 9, but measured the pin that the schematic said should be +15V on the flyback). I have replaced IC561 (TDA8172). Afterwards there is no difference in voltage measurement. I don't know what next to check. Should I do check some other parts? There must be power sent to IC561, so what would I check to see it is getting power? I am a hobbyist and have a DVM, and no other equipment. I do have basic knowledge, but don't know anything about convergance or other adjustments.

Typically, the 4 blinks indicate a vertical defelection problem. This can be either a defective vertical IC (in thi case the TDA8172) or the supply line to that chip. Since you have already replaced the IC, we need to look for the feeder to that IC. I suspect that the original IC was infact bad and that it took out other components when it shorted. I will look up your sepcific model and list the possible parts tonight. In the meantime check any low valued resistors with the same circuit designations. In other words: if the vertical IC was IC 561, look for low valued resistors with the designations R5xx.

Update this with your findings.

In theses set's there should be a board that has a module that the power chord plugs into this module supllies the motherboard and the componants on it. to be honest it would be best to just let a professional replace any defective chips orboards at this point because i believe it is not just one problem but several and without me beibg hands on it would be difficult to narrow it down to just a simple answer.

No picture no sound. Red led blinks once relay clicks once and repeats

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication. You can get an idea about the faulty stage circuit inside the TV, by the number of these blinks. Count it carefully, by switching it ON and OFF, more than 2 times at least, so that, you can make sure about the number of these blinks. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. Surf the site in "MOSAIC" view.

Sony FD Triniton WEGA KV36FV27 no sound or picture timer blinks five times pauses then repeats five blinks. Please advise what this code means in lieu of call a serviceman. Thanks--disabled senior.

in this model error 5( 5 blinks then 5 blinks) is indicating AKB, TOO LOW or ABSENT beam current. Meaning the tube has gone bad. You will need to replace the tube. I am sorry for the bad news.
hope that doesnt hurt my rating.

I have a sony kv-27fs100 when i try to power it on it blinks 14 times after that its just 5 times over and over again what is a fix for this and if someone has a list of the placement of the componets on...

Sony Televisions have indicators like blinking lights to give you a clue what parts have failed.
In your case it could be the worst your picture tube.
Do you remember how it normally would start (blinks) and if it was lacking ant color in the picture or if it just wasn't really clear any more?
10 years was a good life without any service.

The 4 blinks usually indicate a vertical problem. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Let me know if you wish to attempt this repair. If not, expect a parts cost of $10-$15 plus the local labor rate for the repair.
