Question about Sony KP-57WS510 57" Rear Projection HDTV

2 Answers

Double Image It is like looking at 3-D but without the glasses. I looked in the manual and I went to the flash focus screen and pressed to start. Then went to the Convergence screen and the crosses were either white, red and white, red, or blue and red beside each other. I tried using the joystick to change them but nothing happened. We do not have any TV repair people in our town and the logistics of moving the "Big" TV to a repairman 45 miles away are diffucult. We are wondering what is involved with the repair and what the approx. cost of repairs should be. Thank you for your help.

As well as the convergence being off, the picture is in a convex shape.

On Saturday, our TV started its own 3D programing!! We have tried to adjust the convergence, but the little + won't even move. We tried everything, but nothing is helping. We watched a show, and the longer the show the worse the picture got! We had purchased the extended warranty...and now we are getting snaked by the store/ service center. Any suggestions for fixing..other than target practice!!!

You have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.

Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in but stationary.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

>>>Solution<<<<

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors.

Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself.

Is it easy to replace a cracked screen on a acer iconia B1-710?

I've done several Samsungs, a couple of Apples and a Nextbook. I've never done an Acer but I'm guessing it's not too difficult.
Look up YouTube videos on the subject. You can probably find one for the exact device you have.
If the image on your tablet still looks perfect but the glass in front of it is cracked, then you only have to replace the digitizer glass. The screen is behind that. If you have to replace both, try to purchase an assembled package because it will be easier.
Typically, the image screen is fastened to the tablet frame with double-faced tape around the edges. Then another layer of double-faced tape goes around the perimeter of the image screen and the digitizer is stuck onto that. Getting things apart involves using a hair dryer and several little plastic pry tools (some of which look like pry-bars with a handle and some of which look like guitar picks) to separate the glass parts from the heat softened adhesive. I've found that having several single-edge razor blades is also handy as long as you don't slip and push it into your finger.
When you replace the adhesive between the screen glass and the digitizer glass, make sure you don't leave any gaps in the adhesive. Pressing on the front digitizer glass oil-cans it in and out and if you leave any gaps in the adhesive, dust will get sucked in between the sheets of glass.

By the way, I will NEVER do a Nextbook again--at least I wouldn't replace just the glass. They don't use double-faced tape at the factory. The glass was somehow bonded directly to an aluminum frame. Much of the glass I scraped off the frame only came off when pulverized into powder. I would buy the replacement glass already bonded to the aluminum and just snap that on. Probably wouldn't be cheap.

I have a double image on my screen. When I push

Projection TV sets have two very common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

My rca projection tv has blue and green images like a 3D picture would without your 3D glasses, a double vision image and no other colors

sounds like the sensors are out of focus and your red sensor isnt turning on. look in the back of the tv for a master reset button or in your menu screen some sort of "Flash focus" or "convergence". They will realign the 3 sensors.

Canon rebel xt 1. image looks blury in eye

1. The viewfinder's diopter is probably out of focus (doesn't affect Auto Focus of photos). There's a dial and a +/- symbol next to the viewfinder. Turn the dial till you can see clearly through it. Alternative reason: The glass in the viewfinder is dirty/foggy. Use camera cleaning solution (a drop) on a cotton bud to clean it.

2. Malfunction needs Canon Service Centre to take a look at.

I am seeing a double image whel I look through my binocular.

Hi,

Most binoculars should allow you to grip the two sides and pull them closer together to fit the distance between your eyes.. Have you tried this?
What you should see is the two images come together to form one.

If you have tried this already and you still get the two images then it's possible the model is just too wide for your eyes.. If they're new you could try return them for another type that fit better..

If this works for you then here are the instructions for setting up the binoculars to give you the best result for your eyesight..

This is more common than you would think.. Here's how to set up a pair of binoculars to suit yourself.
Any good binocular will be able to do this and the reason is to allow you to adjust them for the difference in strenght between your two eyes. I wear glasses myself and sometimes contact lenses so it's good to be able to quickly adjust them.

1. turn the binoculars over so you are looking at the underside.
2. on the eyepieces can you see on one eye(usually the right eye) a little plus - minus marking. The eyepiece should be able to rotate a little to each side of this marking.
3. Set the rotating eyepiece to the middle setting.
4. Look through the binoculars as normal and bring the two sides together until you form the two circles that you see into one.
5. Pick an object app 10 meters away.
6 Presuming that the adjustable eyepiece is on the right hand side then close your right eye, look at the middle distance object you chose with your left eye and use the central focusing knob/wheel in the middle to bring your left eyepiece into focus.
7. Now, close your left eye and adjust the rotating right hand eyepiece while looking at the same object until your right eyepiece is in focus.
8. The binoculars should now be set for the differences in strenght of your eyes and you can use the middle focus control as normal.

Most binoculars have a soft rubber eyepiece that can be folded back for people who wear glasses but I, like most people I know who wear glasses, find it horribly uncomfortable.

This method allows you to set them for yourself and if someone else uses your binoculars you can quickly reset them for you.

Hope this helps...

- Oh yeah, sorry, forgot to mention.. This set up is so you can use them without wearing your glasses.. Much more comfortable!!
