Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook

1 Answer

Formatting a c drive

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 ... about two weeks ago the keyboard was not responding to the strokes but lagged 10-155 characters behind .. tried everything... anti virus, spyware and malware programmes, registry clean... booting from safe mode etc. etc. nothing works and finding it very difficult to work with...It as XP ( supplied by Dell) and I reinstalled .. nothing... I decided to format it... by inserting the XP .. by going into the administrative tools... trying to reboot it from the cd.... nothing .. it just will not respond... I have backed up the files which I need and trying to format the C drive to start clean .. it just will not allow me.... any suggestion is welcome

My laptop is dell inspiron 1501 but no work keybord and battery charging but supply line(AC adaptor) is ok.

Hello there. The Inspiron 1510 was released almost 5 years ago. If your system is more than 2 years old, then perhaps you will have to replace the battery. Battery for the most part, will only last 1 to 2 years. As for the battery, try connecting an external USB keyboard. If its working, then you need to replace the laptop's keyboard. Hope this will help.

My keyboard is slow when I use it in Hotmail

That is not a problem with the keyboard.( Cheers :P) That is the problem with your network connectivity. It is not able to load complete hotmail features properly. So it is not responding properly to the keyboard responses.

Keyboard will not accept characters. Goes thunk.

Try using an external keyboard in order to get the machine up and running. Then do a system restore to a point where you know the keyboard was functioning correctly. If that doesn't work then try uninstalling the keyboard drivers and do a hardware search. It will automatically pick up the keyboard and reinstall the drivers. If it still doesn't work, then the keyboard needs replacing.

LAPTOP COMPUTER KB PROBLEM

Your keyboard might be shot, the circuit board that is. Try calling Dell and sending it in for them to fix. Another way is to connect an external keyboard and changing the settings around in control panel with it.
