You are going have to soldered a new coax connector into the tuner, which is not an easy thing to do. It would be a lot easier just to replace the tuner. Check with Andrews Electronics, and get someone knowlegeable in electronics to help you with the soldering.

you should enter the set-up function and see if your TV is set to ANT (Antenna) or cable. It should be set to cable.
You could also check if there is an option to have the TV reprogram the channels it automatically switches to. It will be called 'channeld set-up, auto-program...soemthing like that. Since you can get them by messing with the settings we know it CAN get the channels, it just doesn't want to switch to them when you hit channel up or down.
It depense on if the connector is part of the tuner or a ant block. it its an antenna block it will be a small block shaped device that has a wire running to a silver rectangle and that would be the tuner. You could get one from a parts distribitor that handles sharp parts and shouldnt be too hard to replace but you must know its always better to take the set to a repair person if you have no electronic background!!!!! If you see where the connector came off of and its a skinny rectangle then its part of the tuner and a repair shop may be able to solder another terminal in place or even a connector wire. Good Luck
