your mobile has a sensor at the top of you phone which is use to make you screen blank when you keep your phone near your ear to save power during a call.(it may be a sensor malfunction)

My Sony ericsson w705 display is not working suddenly.It is showing some blurred vertical lines.Has the display went off???How much will it cost to fix it


the only final way to check is to confirm that the display connections are in order. If not the display can be faulty . You can remove the main board and clean all the lines and tracks to the connector to the display.
If this wont solve the estimation must be taken from a Sony service store after a final consensus of the faulty.

Lines on phone


More than likely you will need to replace the display screen. Those lines are a symptom of the LCD screen going bad. If you are still under warranty, see if you can get it replaced

If not, a new LCD screen runs about 15 dollars shipped from eBay and is pretty easy to replace.

Display is partially visable

It seems display problem of your phone. And yes you have to change it. Visit any nearby technician, C-168 display needs to be solder with skill and special tools too.

Hori. and vertical lines on display are also symptoms of faulty LCD. You have to change it.

Well, in most cases it means you have a faulty lcd or flex cable.

cost is anywhere from $40-$125 to fix

Loss of display


You could try downloading the latest firmware in the rare case it might be software related, but really it will be a handset fault. Contact the local support centre for the Manufacturer.
