I am not getting any suction from below. The brush is turn fine and I have taken off the airway inspection value and there is no blockage. I check the suction up to that point and it works fine. There are no holes in the tube. This vacuum is less than 1 year old. Got any ideas?

Re: Suction in Wand Only, (No suction down below).
Check the small hose that is under the machine ( it connects to where the brush roller is ) also you can remove a u shaped tube near the bottom of the machine and also another on the right side of the machine near the bottom as well

It sounds as though the wand handle is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose from the machine as if you were going to use it to vacuum the stairs. Switch the machine on and test the suction at the top of the wand handle with your hand. If the suction from the wand is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction again from the top of the hose. If the suction here is good, then you know the wand handle is blocked. If the suction is poor at the hose, you can remove the hose from the machine and clear any blockages here.

If the belt is stretched, then it can't turn the brush rol under load, if you haven't chenged it in the last 6 months, then I would put a new one one. Also check the dirt inlet by the brush roll for a blockage.
I have repaired Dyson machines for years & have never come accross this. The only way you will have trouble extending the hose is if there is a blockage at the bend where you hold the wand could be a coin which when switched on flips accross & blocks oppening.
Is it easy to slide wand from flexi hose with machine switched off ?
You will need to remove wand from hose & push broom handle down to the bend & tap coin out. http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/
Either the hose has a clog, or the inlet down by the belt is clogged. Is there suction at the end of the hose, if not then it is clogged. If there is suction, then it has to be clogged down below by the brush roll, check that inlet. There also is a filter at the bottom where the dirt cup (and bag) is, check it also.
