If you don't see anything in the programs file like Arcsoft webcam or something with webcam in the name chances are it don't but if you are wanting to use it like for yahoo or something that uses a web cam it will work with their software just allow it to have access to your cam the drivers should have come with the computer installled already to run it with other programs if not you can go to the manufacturers webpage find your computer driver downloads and download what you need there.

HOW DO I FIND THE WEB CAM ON A TOSHIBA PSL-C8U COMPUTER??

Hi,

Built in webcams are usually located at the very top of the Toshiba laptop. The laptop will have pre-installed webcam software you can use to operate the webcam.

In Windows go to Start > Programs or All Programs and look for any software with webcam in the title. Start it and this will allow you to use the webcam. If you are using Windows 7 you can click Start and in the search box type "webcam"

How to activate the webcam

Easiest way to activate the webcam I've found, is not to try hunting for the driver, etc... it's usually pre-installed for laptops or netbooks with built-in cameras, best way is to download applications like Skype with video chat, install the software, and then test using Skype. That usually works.

How do i turn mycamera into a webcam

Some cameras such as the Sony Cybershot line are pre-installed with a software that allows you to turn the camera into a webcam. Depending on which camera model it may be, you can either have this option or not. Usually with cameras that have the software, it should be shown somewhere in the manual. If not, you can use a third-party software like Sarmsoft Webcam.
If your camera does this, then follow these steps:
  1. Check if the camera can be used as a webcam, if your camera doesn't come with the software, use the third party one.
  2. Plug the digital camera's power adapter into your camera. (Sometimes you may need to plug it into an A/C outlet for it to work) This makes sure that your camera doesn't die during broadcasting.
  3. Connect a video cable into your camera's "video out" port. Your camera most likely came with a cable made to connect to a video source. Plug the other into your video card "in" port.
  4. Set up your camera as close to the monitor as you can, it will look and shoot like a webcam in that position.
  5. If you camera doesn't have a built-in mic, then you may need to purchase one. However, most digital cameras capable of being a webcam already have a mic built in.
Enjoy! and Good luck.

Using my built in webcam

You must have got a photo/video capture software pre-installed, like YouCam. Or you can download some freeware from Download.com and give it a try.

You can also use a chat software for video talking. It works best if you have a microphone.

Also, YouTube has a Quick Capture feature which lets you to capture a video with the webcam instantly and upload to the site.

These were some ways to put your new webcam to work. Please rate this answer, I need it. For more tips, tricks, hacks, tutorials, tweaks and fixes, visit my YouTube Channel.
