My Whirlpool Refridgerator is making a grinding sound. Do you know what might cause that sort of a sound. It's coming from the bottom of the refridgerator. Model #ET19TKXLWR2. THANK YOU! M

Our fridge was at least 15 years old and from the list of troubleshooting info determinded that it was the compressor. So bought a new one. Whirlpool Gold from Boscov's Outlet store. It's nice that you have troubleshooting info but don't want to pay for service answers from a tech. That's why I came to you for advice. Will continue to be a good Whirlpool customer since those products last so long but did not like that I trusted that you'd give me advice since I had one of your products then get here's how much it will cost for you to get an answer. Feel this should be free (as how you advise when Googled) to those who own a Whilpool or any product that people own that you give advise for. Should get that fee from your sponsors. By giving you the model # and serial # should prove I have purchased the item. Thanks anyway for getting back to me. MMM

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR FAN MOTOR IS EITHER LOOSE OR THE MOTOR IS ABOUT TO GO OUT(NOISE INSIDE COULD BE GEAR IN MOTOR GRINDING WHILE WORKING) it stops when you open the door which shuts off he fan motor to help prevent loos of refrigerated air.

02 ford escape awd, have weird grinding sound from transfercase when on dry pavement only.it works but its a.bad noise.

You've basically answered your own question, if you want to know specifics on your transfer case I can find that out for you but it is evidently broken. Most awds have some sort of clutch mechanism inside that allows some slippage between the front and the rear. When this goes bad it will either grind like you indicated or lock up causing the tires to skip on pavement. The front and rear are working against each other causing the grinding on pavement, you won't notice this on snow, dirt, gravel or ice because your tires are sliding rather than putting so much stress on the transfer case to make it grind.

I believe your problem is caused by a leaking hose or fitting for the water dispenser
Pay close attention to items # 11 and 19 on the diagram labeled Refridgerator door parts
Try turning off the water supply to the dispenser and see if the problem is resoleved... if so you know thats where the problem is

HAVE A ED5FHEXT REFRIGERATOR MAKES A POPPING NOISE ON BOTTOM OF DOOR EVERY TIME YOU OPEN.

there is a magnetic vinyl covered seal glued all around the door frame to seal the refridgerator from escaping cold. If this seal has come loose, it will adhear to the door frame a little after opening and then be pulled back and make a slapping sound. Check this seal to be sure it is not torn loose.

Whirlpool refridgerator is leaking water on the freezer side (side by side refridgerator) onto the floor. The ice machine was overflowing with ice and has frozen ice in the ice maker that won't budge. We...

WAS IT LEAKING FROM INSIDE THE FREEZER OR FROM BOTTOM OF FRIDGE? ONCE IN A WHILE YOU NEED TO TAKE OUT THE ICE BIN AND DUMP ICE OUT AND CLEAN IT. HOW CAN THE ICE MACHINE OVERFLOW WITH ICE WHEN THE ICE IN THE TRAY WON'T BUDGE? NEED CLARIFICATION. SOUNDS LIKE YOU EITHER HAVE A BAD ICE MAKER MODULE OR THE SOLENOID FOR THE ICE ON THE WATER VALVE IS BAD.

Water collection in fridge

.you need to check the drain to make sure it is not clogged or blocked that would stop the water defrosted from you evaporator coil from draining into the drain pan.rare occasions the unit will stay in a defrost mode while trying to cool causing alot more water to be draining.good luck with your fridge.let me know how things go for you.
