Make sure your FTP client software is set to passive. For security reasons the D-Link router does not deal with an active FTP client. An active FTP client can allow a hacker masquerading as an FTP server to gain access to your computer. Please contact your FTP client software manufacturer to determine how to configure the client for passive rather than active. Note: You will not be able to use an active connection through most NAT routers.

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

FTP CLIENT

The following is a generic outline for using FTP clients since I'm not sure which specific FTP client you want to use. Where an example is needed, I'll illustrate using the ftp command in Terminal.
First, open a connection to the remote computer. This is usually done using the remote computer's IP address, e. g.,
ftp 192.168.1.2
You may be prompted for your user account name and password on the remote computer. If you are using a command-line client such as that found in Terminal, you can consolidate the login with a URL:
ftp://accountname:password@192.168.1.2@[portnumber]/Users/accountname/Documents
Once you are logged in, you can view directory contents (pls or dir), delete (rm or rmdir), upload (mput), or download (get) files. Be sure to log off or otherwise close the connection when you are done (bye).
There is not enough space here for a comprehensive description of all of the features of a typical FTP client. Many have graphic user interfaces with selector menus, file tree display and possibly even click and drag file manipulation resembling the Finder. For more details on the Terminal's ftp client, open Applications/Utilities/Terminal and type "man ftp" (without the quotes).

I need to down load soft ware for my d-ling router i have lost my cd.

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Router/ Is the FTP download section for drivers for D-Link routers. You didn't specify the model number so I couldn't go any further in the search directory. Your other option is to search google for D-Link downloads.

My iphone 3gs cannot connect to wifi network at home. i am using linksys wrt100 wireless router.

A wireless client has to support WPS ( wi-fi protected service) function in order to use to add the client to your WPS enabled Wireless Router. check the iphone user manual of your wireless client to see whether it supports the WPS function. If your wireless client does not support the WPS function, you have to configure your wireless client manually so it has the same SSID and wireless security settings, you could also go into the advanced wireless settings and enable WPS ( push and connect ) if your router has this option this is sort of specifically for things like mobile/cellular phones and ipods...hope this helps please vote thanks

Unable to ftp from outside of the network. Went through all of the port forwarding setup. Still can't connect.

You need to setup a Port Forwarding / Virtual Server (FTP) in the router to forward port 21 (FTP default) to your FTP server's FTP port. You may need to setup a reserved IP address for the FTP server first in the router before the option comes up.

Cannot upload pictures to an ftp site

You would open ports 20 and 21, and that would allow FTP transfer in passive mode. (Windows DOS FTP client does NOT do passive mode - so don't use that for testing)

Which model are you talking about ? I have included both

Here is the OSI model
Layer 1 = physical medium & signal on the wire (physical)
Layer 2 = MAC Address and SNAP (ATM) (data link)
Layer 3 = IP Addressing V4 V6 (network)
Layer 4 = TCP/UDP (RTP, RTSP) (transport)
Layer 5 = Duplexing Half or full (Session)
Layer 6 = HTTP, FTP, SNMP (presentation)
Layer 7 = Web browser, FTP Client, (application)

TCP Model:
Layer 1 = physical medium & signal on the wire (physical) (Hub and reapeter)

Layer 2 = MAC Address and SNAP (ATM) (data) (Switches and bridges)

Layer 3 = IP Addressing V4 V6,
Layer 4 = TCP/UDP (RTP, RTSP) (Internetwork) (Firewall, IPSEC) Routers

(This function is split between 4&5) Duplexing Half or full

Layer 5 = , HTTP, FTP, SNMP, Web browser, FTP Client, (application) (programs)

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Can't Transfer image to FTP site

"STOR" is FTP lingo for storing (putting/uploading) the file onto the server. I'm presuming you have entered the appropriate FTP IP address, login and password and the FTP server is setup properly.

Presuming the FTP server is set up correctly, connect your computer to the same cable the Sony IP camera is connected to and use an FTP client from your computer to confirm you can successfully upload files.

If you do not have an FTP client, you can download a free one at:

Sonicwall program in Vista

Here's a link to the cleanup tool located on SonicWALL's FTP site:
ftp://ftp.sonicwall.com/pub/techSupport/SWVPNClientClean.zip

If you are still having problems after using the cleanup util, try downloading the DNE demo here:
http://www.deterministicnetworks.com/Downloads/downloads.asp

Use the cleanup util again, then install the DNE demo first and Global client after that. The DNE demo is the virtual adapter piece that Global client uses anyway, you will just be installing it separately.
<<

I got the clean up tool, ran it, rebooted, then ran the DNE demo installer then installed the VPN client and it worked fine.

Hope that helps!
