Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
Hello! I've been using my Compaq Presario (M2223AP) Laptop for 2 years now, then all of a sudden I saw 2 vertical lines on the screen. 1 line is a clear red line (but not so thick & dark) located about 1/3 from the left of the screen while the other is a very faint (thin, almost transparent) line located about 1/5 from the right of the screen. I think it might be a monitor problem. I'm not very good in fixing computers so I have not done anything about it yet. I'd appreciate your help very much. Thanks! I just recently got a new HP Pavilion dv6000 Entertainment PC notebook and after 3 days a thin white line is on the right side of the screen. I have not done anything to get rid of it, what do I do?
Try using an external monitor, every laptop has a blue VGA connector, just connect a monitor there and check is those lines
disappear,if it does, probably you have a problem with the internal connection of your monitor to the motherboard.

If you don't have any external Monitor with you, you can start the notebook and keep on tap F10. You will get BIOS Setup Utility. You can check whether the lines are present or not. If you find the same lines in BIOS setup utility screen, the defnitely we can confirm that it is a hardware issue with the notebook LCD. At that point, you can use your notebook factory warrenty and send the notebook for free mail in service.
If you don't find the lines in BIOS, then it is a software issue. Just reinstall the Video Drivers and that may resolve the issue.
