SOURCE: How can I format the mp3 player?

Windows only formats in fat32 or ntfs, only Win95 or 98 formats in fat, so you may have to go to the manufacturer web site and look for a formatting programme. Otherwise, there may be a factory reset or similair on the mp3 player, select this and everyting should be deleted.

I had the same problem. I formatted it to FAT format and it started working again. It has to be FAT. FAT 32 and EXFAT don't work.

FORMAT ERROR

I finally figured out that when I format my Nano Plus, I have to select "FAT" from the "File System" drop-down list (even though the manual says you can select "FAT 32"). When I selected anything other than "FAT", Windows could not complete the format and the player would not get past the start-up logo.

For the Insignia NS-DA1G, NS-DA2G, KIX, NS-DV2G, NS-DV4G:

These units come set to a FAT formatting. If you have changed this to NTFS or DOS, you will cause problems with your player. Be sure it is formatted correctly.

If you have formatted your player to FAT (recommended), FAT-16, or FAT-32, try using the software reset in the MENU - Settings area of the players internal software.
