Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I installed a logitech webcam onto my computer, and somehow its audio setting made it so none of the sound on my computer works. I uninstalled it and still nothing works. I actually would really like for the webcam and the sound on my computer to work, is thattoo much to ask. I have a Dell E1405 laptop.

No, I'm not using Vista, I'm on XP. Thanks though... I'm installing an audio driver off Dell right now and hoping that will work.

Are-you using Vista? If yes, what is the Chipset installed (Intel...). You can find that info by right-clicking on My Computer/Properties.

How to to instal logitech webcam

Logitech webcam usually comes with a CD to install software and drivers. If you are using windows 7 your computer should recognize Logitech Webcam when you connect it to your computer's USB port! Its necessary to have internet connection for your computer and Logitech webcam is just plug and play that means!
Just connect the webcam to your computer and remaining is done automatically!
Also drivers for logitech webcam are available online at their site www.logitech.com
good luck!

Sound does not work

check the audio connector ( color green ) if it is connected properly to audio port ( color green : beside the pink port ) .

Check if you have installed the drivers for the sound device.
Also, if you have the speaker configuration in your system, you can check it if it has just been muted.

make sure .
1. You installed the right driver properly
2. It is not muted .
3. Try to use another speaker, so that you can test if your speaker device is working .

if none of these works, then probably your audio device, doesnt work.

Dell Dimension 5150 no sound - please help

You should be able to download the original driver files from Dell Support Drivers & Downloads.

However, this may be worth a try:
Go to Start --> Run, and type in services.msc.

A window will pop up with a list of services. Scroll down to Windows Audio. Right-click
and click on Properties.
Make sure that "Startup type" is set to automatic. Also, make sure, under "Service
status," start is selected.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

No sound

make sure that the speaker cables colored plug match that of what is on the back of the computer, also make sure that the volume control console is set for the correct output. Lastly, if none of these work, try uninstalling the audio device by right clicking my computer, select properties, go to hardware, and click device manager and thenright click the audio device and click uninstall, then reboot, and follow the instructions that come up when the computer reboots, and see if that works.
