Sounds like my problem two days ago. I have a Kitchen Aid free standing gas oven/range model
KGRI801PWH00. I read online that the thermo-fuse might've blown. I found the thermo-fuse after removing the rear panel. It was at the top/center. Mine is T-O-D (brand) 60F24; Westinghouse #8300802. I ordered mine from appliancepartspros.com for only $34.75; arrived in 36 hrs with regular shipping!! Easy to fix, sure beats several hundred $$ to repairman.

Don't bother to call Kitchen Aid - they'll just blow you off just like the hundreds of complaints said that I found online.

Hello- Control is about 250$. Could save 100$ by installing yourself, but the popular "self-destruct" cycle can cook other switches and what-not. Find a tech and inquire up-front if completed repairs are too high, they keep parts, you pay trip charge.- Hope this helps- ED

I would check the following because during a self cleaning cycle a oven gets very hot and draws alot of power and this could of happened

Fuse/circuit breaker
Check to see if power is getting to the range/oven. Does anything turn on--even a light? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker. Main wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the range/oven, gets burned and so breaks the connection. Then you may have to replace the power cord to the range/oven, and the terminal block that the wire is attached to.

The self-cleaning cycle gets extremely hot! The surface of the oven inside becomes a catalyst with the heat. It sounds like a something on the range got hot like a circuit board. It is possible that a fuse or a fusible link may have burned up causing this issue. Did you check the plug for power? Maybe the GFCI tripped when the cycle was running. If you have power to the plug then you will need to start by removing the back panel and check for any fuses located on the circuit board. Check for any loose wires and use a multimeter to check for voltage going to the control panel. If you find any wires that look melted that might be a fusible link and will need to be replaced.

Heating eliments do not heat up

Did the electrical service power go out, or did the display on the oven go out?
If it was the display, then make certain the breakers didn't trip or fuses blow feeding power to the unit. If they are both good, and the display is still not lighting up, the unit may have blown a thermal fuse, usually located near the control head. This failure could be caused by a number of things (it happened that my KitchenAid had a service bulletin and modification kit to replace the blowers and reroute the wiring).

Please reply you findings and I wil help you more.

try lifting the stove top assy and checking wires under main top, leading to the elements them selves??? if tis tripping and not allowing to reset its gotta be an obvious short. isit hard wired directly to stove or into a 220 cord and plug???id look again, perhaps remove entire back panel and have someone trip on the breaker you might see where it flashes as it trips off
