I've had my canon G7 for a little over a year now and have barely used the video feature..everytime i have used it it works perfectly. However just the other day I made a video and the sound didn't come out right. It sounded very fuzzy as if I had my hand over the mic..i took a couple other videos and made sure my hand wasn't over the mic and the same thing happened. I uploaded the videos onto my PC and the sound is the same fuzzy sound. I even turned on the wind protection feature and that didn't help...I hope this can be fixed -- I didn't get warantee on my camera! =(
SOURCE: No sound on video
Hi If you keep your finger on the microphone it is possible therefore that there is problem with the sound or enter in a menu, setup and verify that they had given the volume on max power.Whether it is not from that Mean, That factory low.

This is a really simple problem and easy to solve. Unfortunately the videos you've recorded cannot be changed back because they have been recorded in Time Lapse mode.
With the camera switched on in Video Mode turn the control dial on the back (this is the dial to the right of the LCD screen). This will change the settings from TIME LAPSE to STANDARD. There are actually 6 different modes but the best one for normal videos is STANDARD. There is a HIGH RESOLUTION setting, however these record fewer frames per second (fps) so whilst the quality is better per frame, there are half the amount of fps so the the movie will look at bit jerky.
It's really easy to accidentally twist the dial when holding the camera, so always check the icon in the top right of the LCD before recording to make sure its just a yellow camera in a yellow square.
This should be problem solved for all future recording.
SOURCE: My canon powershot SD280 sound wont work..
hey boss- just figured this one out.
while the video is playing, you can increase the volume by pressing the
button above the Func. Set center button and decrease the volume by
pressing the button below the Func. Set button. Think we both
accidentally turned the volume all the way down.
Too bad you can't tell this by going to the volume menu! Would have been
nice to know I was still recording audio while shooting video. Hope
this helps!
SOURCE: problem w/ canon g9 camera
I saw several comments about recovering video that has been shot in time lapse mode and just thought I would let you know you cannot. I called Canon to ask.
SOURCE: canon g7 dead wont turn
That's a loose screw issue inside the G7 and the G9 that is common. The best place I know to get help for that one would be camerasandparts.com They just specialize in the powershots and they are awesome if you need help with one of these. Best of luck, they have your exact G7 no power problem right there on their site. I hope that helps.
