Asuming you first set up the router via an ethernet cable; check in the router setting that you have wifi enabled as it is not always by default

from your computer fistily you open you internet browser and type in 192.168.2.1, this will access your router...

find the "security" tab or link (whatever your router has) and click it .... it should show your password there

if it (your router) asks for a password to access it, just leave it blank and click "submit"

HOW TO Connect tl-740n wireless WIFI router to PTCL DSL WIFI ROUTER

The easiest way to chain two wireless routers. *Please note this is just to have wireless access*
Make sure DHCP is enabled for both, make sure their SSID (the name that shows up when you connect to it) is different.
Make sure they are both different networks. So for example configure the first for 192.168.0.0 network and the other for 192.168.1.0. Now plug an Ethernet cable from the 740n router (WAN) port into a (LAN)

Second method *This only works if the tl-740 router supports AP mode (Access point).
In the configuration of the 740 router, enable AP mode and make sure DHCP and nat are turned off if they are on. Configure the wireless to operate on channel 1 6 or 11. Name the SSID the same as the other router. Plug in Ethernet from WAN 740 to LAN on the other router. Now on the DSL router make sure the SSID is the same and select a different channel from (1,6,11). Now you're all set.

Have a D-Link 615 Router. Seems when one of us in on the Wifi, the other is unable to access the Wifi. Both of us have I-Pads. Why can't we access together? We used to about a week ago. What do

You should be able to , that begs the question, is youe ISP "throttling" the signal? Is there a problem with the equipment. inside or outside? Have you checked ALL cables, reseated ALL connections, rebooted the ISP Modem, the wireless device? Is the wireless Secured? As you move about the house is that when you lose connection? If you are sitting next to the D-Link will it stay connected? It may be outside? Contact your ISP and have them analyze the signal, have a ISP tech come out and analyze.

I want to use my wifi router D-link dir-600 for internet wifi. After I set everything according to manual guide, I can detect the wifi signal, eventhough I have enable the wifi in the router.

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router'swireless settings configured ie SSID, WPA or WPA2 encryption key and also thewireless cards in all the laptops and or computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router. For Internet access you need to connect your DSL or cable modem to the WAN/Internet port on the D-Link.

Router and internet down

Did they have physical access or was it just wifi access.
If they had physical access it's an easy matter to reset the router back to factory settings.
Use your D-Link manual to rest it back as it was with your ISP settings.

I have two computers, Computer A that is hard wired to a cable modem and Computer B with a D-Link DWA-556 card in it. I also have a D-Link DIR-655 wireless router connected to the cable modem. My problem...

Does folder sharing work through WiFi?
Might be that the IP ranges are not in the same subclass network if the IP numbers are not coming from the same DHCP server.
Did you check the IP number on Computer B in case of the cabled connection and when it is connected on the WiFi? They should only differ in the last digits, not the first 3 groups.

Wireless wont connect

Hi, I have found a link that may help you set up your system. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_triggering/routerindex.htm You don't say what the setup error is? I think the "Help Link URL" will show ya how to reset the router, so do that.. set up the SSID and Channel and, then go to the lappy & set up your Wifi for "Client"mode, as ya should have set up ya Router as an "Access Point" ensure that is all set up correctly. below is a link to a program Wireless Mon, install this on the Lappy, and use it to see if your "Wifi Router" is actualy transmitting etc...and prove ya wifi in lappy is OK..
