Question about Philips HTS-3555 System

1 Answer

No audio is coming through my speakers

I've had this system for less than one year. It was working fine, but out of no where all 5 speakers have stopped working. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting all wires - but nothing seems to work. DVD still works just fine [but no sound through the speakers then either]. Is there anything like a fuse that would possibly need to be replaced to restore speaker functionality? Thanks for your help!

If the receiver is actually powering up but you are getting no sound, there are few basic things to check.

Check the audio connections on the back (speakers AND inputs) to make sure they are tight at both ends and undamaged. Go into the setup screen for the DVD player and make sure the audio settings are set for PCM output and that you are using a digital or optical audio cable. Then make sure you have the correct function selected on the receiver to match the inputs. If the receiver has a speaker test function, use it to see if there is any output from the speakers. Finally, make sure the volume is turned up and the mute button is off.

Otherwise, the amplifier may be faulty

I have polk audio rm 705 purchased from my friend a month ago. these are working fine but one day one speaker just have very low sound coming from tweeter where as the main speaker is silent.

Try switching the speakers left to right. If the same speaker is bad on both channels, the speaker is bad. If the good speaker is now bad, the unit driving the speakers is bad.

If the unit is around 5-6 years old or less, you have a bad Rotary Encoder. It is an input to the microprocessor IC(a computer within your Bose). If you would like to inquire about repairing your Bose, please visit me at my website, audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me directly from the site.

I had the same problem. It turns out one of the speaker wires was pulled out from the speaker and the and -ve were tangled. Once I separated them and put them back in the speaker, the system started working fine.

No Right Front Speaker Output

Swap speakers over...check the balance isn't fully to the other channel...swap left/right phono cables over (if thats how your using it) other than that i would say is broke.
Easy way to check speaker cable/speaker... touch a small battery (like used in a remote) across speaker wires, you will hear and see the speaker cone move.

I only get audio in stereo mode and sometimes in other modes if i warm unit up for a long time. the green light blinks on & off. Also speaker icons for main speakers are always flashing. I have had...

Sounds like the it is overheating do to poor ventalation and or there is speaker wires that maybe crossed and or shorting and causing the unit to do this. If everything is fine, then the amp is weakend from old age and wont make it much longer.

I have a Pioneer xv dv55 . My sub or speakers are not working!

I've had mine for nine (9) years and it fine, first make sure all coloured wire are connected to the sub correctly, press sys on your remote then press button 8 to test if the speakers are working then increase the volume to hear the spaekers. so to link TV audio/sound with DVD press sys then A-2 on the DVD remote, I hope these will solve ur problem?
