Question about Pinnacle Computers & Internet

Open Question

I have Studio Version 10.6 and a Dazzle DVC 100 which I used with a laptop (Windows XP) with limited success as the laptop wasn't really man enough for the job. I now have a PC with Vista and can't get my videos to download at all. Do I need the Dazzle with updates or something else completely different?? I've tried all the activation keys supplied but nothing works.

SOURCE: error 5 error LU1812 live update error

Download and run the LiveUpdate fix tool from Symantec HERE

After you run the fix tool, open Norton 360, click on the "Scans" link at the top of the window, choose "Comprehensive Scan" and then click the "Go" button This will take some time, but will thoroughly inspect your computer for infections

To address your other question regarding the LiveUpdate settings, you can change the configuration to use an HTTP proxy. To do so, please follow these steps.

1. Open the "Symantec LiveUpdate" Control Panel.

2. In the LiveUpdate Configuration window, click on the "HTTP" tab.

3. Click on the radio button that says "I want to customize my HTTP settings for LiveUpdate." Enter the information for your HTTP Proxy server, click the "Apply" button, and then click the "OK" button.

Please let me know if this process resolves the issue you are having with LiveUpdate. Also, if the scan finds any infections, please let me know what is found.

Dazzle dvc 90 wont work on my new windows 8 laptop

I hope your new laptop has a 4th Gen of Intel processor installed in it, so you can install virtual Windows 7 or Windows XP in it.
If this laptop does not have a 4th Gen Intel processor installed in it, then you need to read this article:

  • If you are using a Dazzle product already that includes Instant DVD Recorder version 2.6.1, then you do not need to install this update.
New with this version:
  • added support for Windows Vista 64 bit and Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit)(
  • Includes Windows Vista and Windows 7 drivers (for both 32 and 64 bit) for the DVC 100, 101, 103, 107 hardware NOTE: DVC130 and DVC170 don't have 64 bit drivers and can only be used with Windows XP and Windows Vista 32)

I can't install dazzle 90 on windows 7 64-bit

Hi ancher !
Unfortunately Windows 7 does'nt support Dazzle DVC 90 anymore .
Here is a workaround :
solution one:
If you have the W XP install disc , you can install a virtual version of W XP on your machine from http://www.vmware.com/products/player/
solution two :
If you still have the install disc , you can also partition your primary and install W XP on the new partition from http://download.cnet.com/Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html.
Back up your data first.
solution three:
I have Win 7 on my primary and installed Win XP on my secundary . Works like a charm .
Have a nice day ,
Best regards,
fanaudi .

I have a dazzle dvc 100 rev:1.1. i am trying to transfer homemade videos from hi-8 onto dvd, but it wont let me. what could be the problem ? i have lost the cd it came with

Check the version of your software. You'll need version 2.6.1 if you're trying to use Vista or Windows 7. Older versions of the Dazzle software will not work with XP 64 bit, Vista or 7. This link will take you directly to the Pinnacle download page for the updater package if that's what you need.

Hi-8 capture often requires using a Firewire connection instead of USB. Check the device's details to see if that may be the issue.

Hope that's helpful.

The issue seems to be more software conflict in Win 7. I installed Pcleusb.exe and it blue screened on just about everything. But all is not lost, I have managed to get the DVC 80 to work using VideoCap.exe. Very basic but at least it allows you to to record/capture in either AVI or WMV

Welcome to Fixya,
What is the model of your dazzle device? Is taht DVC 100? if ever please check this procedure.

Step 1: Install the Pinnacle Dazzle Video Creator Platinum software and make sure it works with the Dazzle DVC 100. Sometimes this is easy, other times, this is a very difficult task. step 2: Buy 3 RCA type Y cables. One male end, 2 female ends.
Step 3: Plug the male ends of the RCA y-connectors to the Dazzle DVC 100.
Step 4: Plug the Yellow, Red and White RCA connectors from the XBox 360 to the color matched female RCA y-connectors on the Dazzle DVC 100.
Step 5: Plug a second triple RCA connector into the other end of the color matched RCA Y Connectors.
Step 6: Plug the other end of the triple RCA connector into the TV.
Step 7: The tricky part no one ever mentions: On the XBox 360 video cable, there is a switch that switches from HDTV to TV. You must switch this to TV!
