It may be necessary to reinstall the software on your BlackBerry. This is pretty much the same process that is followed if your PC was having issues and you had to reinstall Windows, etc. Other than that the battery will be the issue with the device and you may need to replace the battery.

Hi my Blackberry curve keeps freezing, and i need to take the battery out at least 6 times a day, Can anyone help.

absolutelly! check the memory alot of times that the issue. you can do this by pressing the menu button then go to settings or options depending on your theme. then select status and view your file free. your file free needs to be atleast 5,000,000 bytes or 5 mb. if its not delete your messages you can do this by going into your messages highlighting the date pressing menu and then deleting prior. if all this is done and it keeps happening

  1. Install Desktop Manager
  2. Backup your information using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager (recommended).
  3. Download and install the blackberry handheld software to your computer.
Note: Running the Application Loader will take approximately 15-60 minutes to complete.

this will work 100% ive had the pearl 8100, 8120, flip 8220 (horrible piece of **** phone), 8320, 8900, and the 9700. i have delt with the exact same issue a few times and this works always!
when it does please provide me with accurate feed back that reflects the solution 3 or 4 thumbs up! thank you!!!!

Phone erases text messages and call log

This happens because of large applications are installed on the BlackBerry smartphone.
To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:-
  1. Make sure that the BlackBerry Device Software is installed on the computer to display the correct total application space.
  2. Determine the application space that is available on the BlackBerry smartphone by completing the following steps.
a) Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
b) Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
c) Double-click Application Loader.
d) At the Device Application Selection screen, under the application selection window, note the total application space.

NOTE:-Select the List additional applications that are installed on the connected device check box to include the applications that are installed outside of the BlackBerry Device Software applications and the file sizes.
3) Remove applications that are not required. For example, remove additional language packs and themes.

Incoming phone numbers not showing up on display

i have seen this before with my clients on BB 81XX model Pearls.
on their phone, the cause of missing Call Logs was due to not enough internal phone memory. ie, the phone ran out of DiskSpace.
while the handset has 64 megs of RAM, it uses a large amount of this for Security Policies, programs and application settings.

if you go to Options/Settings > Status - you can see the Free Space amount. if the phone drops under 1 meg of free space, it will delete certain data to let it run properly.

First off, try powering off the phone by removing the battery. then at least when it starts again, it will be using the minimum amount of memory. then you should look at removing files not needed, like photos, ring tones, IT Policies that arent necessary (if you don't use ICQ or AIM or MSN , just remove/uninstall them).

once you have freed up some space you will find that these Call Logs will no longer disappear.

sorry if i misunderstood the question, but if i read it right, i believe this should get you going.

cheers

My phone Wants me to reset it

Try to connect to it using the desktop software. you can download this from either your service provider website or, blackberry.com If you can connect to it back the phone up using the software then reset it to factory and put the backup on phone using the same software ... it will be for pearl 8100. If you cannot connect to phone you can try the service provider to see if they can recover it. But I am guessing the software below will be able to connect to it

Here is another solution step by step:
1. Install the software from the CD (that you received with the device), or download it from the service provider (AT&T).

2. Delete or rename the vendor.xml file, here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader (you're windows file options needs to be set to 'show system files', to see said file...

3. Open Desktop Manager (DM)...

4. Connect the Red Pearl (since am sure that's what you have!)...

5. Doing this will force the pc to see the BlackBerry as new hardware, and thus force it to reload the Operating System (OS)...

6. During the process, select YES to do a backup...

7. The whole process should take about 30-45 minutes...

But, since this has happened so many times, I have to ask myself, is it something you're doing that it causing this? I know the Red Pearls from AT&T have had issues from DAY ONE!

BLACKBERRY8100PERL

Hi. When your Blackberry starts to run low on memory, your call log and messages (as well as previous calendar entries) are automatically deleted. This is a BIG pain because you are not asked before they are gone. The way to ensure this does not happen is to delete any unnecessary items on your Blackberry. Here are some of the things you can safely delete to free up space:
1. Languages. Your Blackberry comes with the ability to use many languages. Delete any languages that you don't use.
2. Applications: Delete any applications that you don't use.
3. Media: Save any music, ringtones, video, pictures on a media card, not on the Blackberry.
4. Clear your browser history and cache every time you use the internet (While you are in your browser, click on the menu key, click on History, click on Menu to delete; Next, click on Options, Cache Memory, and clear each item).
5. After you have done the above, remove your battery and then put it back in to re-boot.

Just doing the above 5 things should make a big difference. One last thing you can do is make sure you have the latest software installed. Go to your service provider's web site or to www.blackberry.com and check to make sure you have the current version. If you don't, backup your Blackberry using Desktop Manager, then download the current software and install it only your Blackberry.

I hope that helps!

HELP

Go to options, status and see how much available memory in file free is left, should be at least 4 mil bytes, get your pictures or rings off your phone and/or any third party applications.

options>advanced options>applications>check for bb sample video and inputs/language, you can delete these applications from phone.

As long as you manage your memory you should not loose your call/sms logs again.
