Question about ViewSonic VX924 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Viewsonic 19 My son bought this panel last August as he was getting ready to go to college. The computer itself had a problem and we weren't able get it fixed until just before school was out this year. (A long story) He ordered his computer and panel from Xtreme Gear. He went back to college and the panel and computer had been working fine. He turned it off Thursday night but when he turned it back on, on Friday morning the computer came on, but the panel remained black. He checked to make sure everything was securily plugged in. He also unplugged and replugged. It still doesn't work. Is it possible for a panel to go out so soon. It is practically new.

It takes for ever to warm up and screen going on and off till is warm. If i keep it on all the time there is no problems. But switching it on in the morning takes about 20 min to get normal. When I bought...

this sounds like low DC voltage in the backlight ballast or possibly faulty backlights. Check to see if the screen glows slightly in a dark room when first turned on from cold and the screen is still blank, if there is no glow then its most likely a ballast or power supply issue. hope this helps

ViewSonic 19" flat screen monitor goes black - intermittently

Hi,
There could be a problem with your display card settings or the display card itself. If you are using Windows operating system, make sure that you have the monitor driver installed for that specific monitor. This is to ensure that Windows only allows settings for which your particular monitor was designed.
Let me know if I can assist you any further regarding this.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

Flickering screen

If you bought it new in this last August, don't put up with it but get it fixed under the warranty. That is what warranties are for.

VX922 19" Monitor -Terrible customer service by ViewSonic

The only advice that I have on this issue would be to call ViewSonic again and as soon as you get a Rep on the phone you need to ask for a supervisor. In the event that the supervisor is not helping you ask to speak to his supervisor. Make a point to mention the issues that you had in the past and then make them aware that you are upset while maintaining your cool because they will be more apt to work with you if you remain calm.

If all else fails you might mention that there is a burning or smoke smell coming from the monitor :-)

Viewsonic VX922 - black screen of death and the blinking (mocking!) green led

Really if this happens then you may want to contact viewsonic to see if it still in warrant. Reminder that most of their monitors have a 3 year warrany from the date of purchase. So make sure that you have your proof of sales/receipt/POP/invoice or what ever you want to call it ready. This model is old so they will ask for it if its a first time repair.
