Question about Boston Acoustics BA735 Computer Speakers
I've had my BA735 speakers on my Gateway for the past 7 years. I just bought a new Dell XPS 420 system and was expecting to connect these speakers to the new machine. One problem! The female jack connector on the Dell is much smaller (thinner) than the speaker male jack connector. Is there some sort of adapter than will allow for this connection?
Also, if this connection is possible, do I need to install any BA735 drivers and where would I find the most appropriate?

I wish these suggested responses were a fix for my need of the control pod that connects to the main base unit on BA MM226 model. the only one I would consider is the repairman in Beaumont...

I have resolved the BA735 digital speakers on the Dell XPS 420. The answer is simple. The XPS comes with both a digital and an analog connector. The plug from the speakers fits into the analog connector (above the USB ports) but will not work (as expected). The plug coming from the speakers does not fit the Dell digital plug. I went to Radio Shack and got a new RCA cable (both male connectors), plugged one end into the Dell digital plug and the other end to the speakers "digital in" plug. VOILA!!! The speakers are operational once again.

I have a set of boston Digital BA735 and i just got a dell Dimension 8300 I am not sure if that what its called its a hand me down and thats on the front but anyway i have to cords coming out of the speakers going into i think the blue and green on the back it doesnt work i have trried everything and called everyone i know. is there a driver that will fix this problem. thanks

As long as you can find a compatible plug that fits, it would not be hard to adapt it...some soldering of course is needed or just connect it using the wires if it came with wires. Just take note of the polarity though.
You don't need a software driver for the speakers.
