Get the disk - Otherwise, no way that you can attempt the repair operation which by the way is not a guaranteed fix for your issue. Or bite the bullet and install a new OS with drivers.

SOURCE: have a toshiba satellite a305-s6853

Remove your battery plug in your a/c power - you should get a power led light on your unit - if not power led try your power pack on someone elses toshiba or try there power pack on yours - if a good power pack starts your unit then refitted the battery whilst its running and left it charge - that means you have a dead power supply - if it doesn't respond with and alternative power pack your d/c input cct has failed. new m/board.

SOURCE: My laptop (Toshiba l300 satellite) wont start up

Hi

The most likely cause of this is a corruption of the Windows sytem files or a Boot Sector Virus.

You need a bootable CD/DVD to attempt a repair Installation of your operating system.

If the operating system is too corrupt to repair, you might have to do a completely fresh installation, followed by drivers, programs and security software.

If you have important data stored on the hard drive, either you or a repair technician can remove the hard drive and, using a Hard Drive Dock or an External Hard Drive Enclosure and a 2nd Computer, back up all your important data to an external storage device.

The more failed boot attempts made, the greater the risk of permanent damage being doneto the hard drive.

I hope this helps.

Computer failing to start

Your Operating System maybe corrupted. If you have the installer that it came with (usually a CD), you may need to use that when repairing. Your computer should extract the missing/corrupted files from the installer

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6837 is in a "DO -LOOP" with the following:

Use the Windows Install disc and load on top of previous version. Do not do a clean install, this will delete all previous settings and data.

Working on a Inspiron 530s, it was brought to me and said I can't fix it, help. The problem is: loads to Dell screen then to Windows Error Recovery black and white screen. It says windows failed to...

Not sure of the legality of this, but you could try to download a dell oem vista DVD, burn it, and be up and running in no time. I do this all the time. I assume its legal because I am still using the license that the computer came with.

Windows 7 won't bootup, has error recovery. it loads files then nothing. screen is black.

Had that problem a few times myself.
Only way I could fix was to restore back to factory condition.
As you boot, watch bottom of screen closely.
depending on system, Should need to press F2, F10, possibly F12, might even be Del.
Most likely you didn't get restore disk, or have made one.
If you do, insert disk before boot up. System should boot to DvD.
Don't forget once restored to update.
Hope this helps

My laptop will not come on it makes loud noise them when I push esc key it stops. It will not bring me to the screen to login my password. When I turn it off launch starting up repair comes up,It won't...

As you said it is making loud noises, most probably your Hard Drive (HDD) have failed.

Mechanical HDD failure will result your HDD making noises, and your will not be able to repair your system using software. You have to replace the HDD.

As for your important data on your HDD seeking professional help will be an option to retrieve your valuble data, but it is quite expensive.
