Philips magnavox,9p5040c102 tv has power but no pic or sound, what is wrong, worked fine yesterday

Check if the tube lights up at the rear, the fillament must glow.If not check for badly soldered joints at the picture tube connection or the HT transformer.

Sounds like a power supply problem, you'll have to take it to a repair shop to fix that unless you know electronics. Good luck.

it is very possibvle that the three lights are not positioned correctly or you may have to change the fluids behind the lights only a technician can do this

could be regulator in power supply,there are like 3 ics in charge or the regulation,ask him to get schematic for this tv and find regulator ics one ar more of them could be bad,thanks.

I had the exact same problem with my Magnavox TV. No sound and no video but the power light was lit.  You can find the solution here.

If you have some trouble shooting abilities you can get the service manual for your set at the following link and they will also provide free support to help you diagnose and repair the set. Your model is coverd in the manual for the 60P8431.under the phillips/magnavox section.

Goto www.TvRepairKits.com and get their shrinking/expanding video repair kit. It works on the Philips sets.

Sounds like a high voltage issue and/or a power supply problem.
