Question about Air Conditioners

The inner glass on our oven has fallen off, it still has the outer glass, is it ok to use or will it explode the glass? Does it need to be replaced or can it be glued back on? Thanks

Need to remove coleman air conditioner from unit and re seal. I have it apart but it is not coming out of hole.


The installers may have used dynabolts or plugs to hold the outer frame into the wall opening. You will have to slide the inner part of the machine out to access these. ( I assume its a wall / window unit?)

Charging an air conditioner by superheat or subcooling


Charging AC by superheat and subcool
First charging a unit by superheat, this is only for Acs with an orifice or capillary tube.
Optimum superheat is 12° to 15° at the compressor or suction line outside the unit.
Hook up your gages and put a thermometer on suction line (large line), start the AC. Measure the temperature of the suction line and read the pressure on your gages. Theres a temperature scale on your gages for R-22 or R-410A the needle will show you the pressure on the outer scale and if you follow it down to the R-22 or R-410a inner scale that is the saturation temperature for that refrigerant, (you can also use a temperature pressure chart), now read the thermometer, let’s say the suction temperature( the thermometer) is 67° and the saturation temperature (the gages or temp. press. Chart), is 55°, subtract the saturation temperature from the suction temperature, 67°- 55° = 12° superheat.
Charging by Subcooling, this is for Acs with a thermostatic expansion valve, it’s common to see a sight glass on the liquid line (on these units with a sight glass just clear it, when, indoor room is at approximate set point of the thermostat). If there is no sight glass then the Optimum sub cooling is 12° to 15° at the outdoor unit.

This is also the only way to know if your a/c has the proper charge.

I checked to see if there was an external venting function for your unit and there was not so we can eliminate drafted external air as the source. What you will need to do is check the outer chassis to see if the foam is torn off that seals the unit off from external air. You will see a foam strip in the very top of the chassis if you slide the internal unit out. Get some single sided weather stripping and seal off the inner chassis by applying it to the the outer chassis. The from should make contact with the evaporator shroud area only ALL the way around the unit. It will be trickey to get it on properly and then slide the unit back into place but this is what you need to do in the inside of the outer chassis. Now.... on the outside of the outer chassis it must also be sealed. This is just a stretched foam strip all the way areund the outside of the outer chassis. DO NOT use adhesives. It is a stretch and stuff in place fit only. A putty knife works great for installing the outer foam as you stretch it out. If you have any gaps make sure that the gaps are not in the coreners and use another piece of foam to fill any side gaps if the foam pulls apart.

This should resolve the bugs with fan only issue.

I have a damaged plug on my Fedders A3X05F2A air conditioner. I cut it off but can't tell which is the white and black wire to attach to replacement plug.


Have you tried to carefully strip the outer insulation off the wire, to expose the 2 or 3 inner wires? If not, doing that will give you the color codes.

I have a 4 ton outside and a 5 ton coil inside square footage of the house is 2495 living.my preasures are 75 low side and 225 hi side i'm not getting any flood back is this ok are do i need to add more...

Gas pressure


It depends on the indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity. The low side pressure can be in the area of 135# to 145# with an indoor temperature of 80° and 50% relative humidity, and the outdoor pressure can be in the area of 300# to 330# on a 95° day depending on effeciency rating.
If your asking this to charge your a/c this is not how to charge your a/c.

When i was fixed a problem in central ac trane i found decreased in freon r22 and the suctione line was freezed, i charged the ac with froen gas r 22 then i found that the suctione line changed and begin...

Please tell me how to remove the carpet from my 04


Help do what? If this is a window air unit, the inner parts slide out of the outer shell. Slide it out ( into the room direction and refeed the drain line.
