My dryer is not heating

THE PROBLEM MAY BE OF SEVERAL THINGS
1. ELEMENT BURNT OUT
2. THERE ARE NORMALLY TWO TEMPERATURE STATS
ONE CONTROLS THE TEMPERATURE/ SWITCHES THE HEATER ON AND OFF AND THE OTHER IS A OVER TEMPERATURE STAT, IF THIS TRIP'S IT WILL NEED REPLACING AND ALSO THE WORKING STAT, THAY COME AS A SET.
3. WIRING CONNECTION ON HEATER ELEMENT BURNT OFF
4. PROGRAMMER CONTACT /CABLE PROBLEMS
MAY BE CHEAPER TO BUY A NEW ONE AROUND £200
GOOD LUCK

Blk terminal and plug burnt off Heater relay main PCB

Even if it wasn't a poor connection made during the assembly of the wire harness, it could've loosened up over time as your dryer was used being that when the clothes spin the inertia causes shifting of different things inside the dryer. How long did the dryer run before this happened?

Also gas dryers always have a fuse in them, I'd check that before you put it all back together too because chances are that if you have a burnt wire the fuse probably went too. The fuse is usually white, about an inch long and has to male end terminals on it.

I have a burning smell in my dryer. it heats up and runs but the clothes have a burnt smell

Do not switch on the dyer unless this is checked out as the fault seems related to the coil heating some insulation or foreign particles when it is switched ON.
Sometimes this can be due to wires buring after coming into contact with the heater, the insulation being burnt out.
Also if the connection leads on the heater is bad then the JOINTS might heat more and thus burn the wires or any other materials that come in touch.
An inspection / with a good obserrvation lamp is most important. You can also start by observing the leads on the heaters.

My 1988 washer/dryer combo Model LSG1000 is showing an E9 code for the dryer. Do you know what that means?

The "E9E" code means Low Voltage is seen at the Control Board. Make sure the RED wire on the Control Board that connects to the Heater Relay is not loose or burnt. This is the LINE ONE voltage supply to the Control Board and if it has a bad, loose or burnt connection it will cause E9E to display. If there are no loose of burnt wire connections then the control board will likely need to be removed and replaced.

All the clothes in my dryer dry at a normal time, but the smell burnt! After a dry cycle, the inside of the dryer smells like something is melting, but everything seems to be working correctly. We have had...

Remove the vent duct at the back and clean out all of the lint. Next, find the air inlet to the heater elements and make sure there is no lint accumulated there. Inspect the back of the drum (inside) for any plastic debris (something left in a pocket?) that might have melted and stuck on there. Last resort: remove the dryer cabinet and drum, and inspect the heater and its wiring. If the insulation on the wires appears burned or is broken off, cut off the damaged part of the wiring and replace its terminals, then polish the heater terminals before reattaching the wires (a tarnished connection will cause the wire to overheat). Clean out the heater if necessary, but be careful not to stress the heater element. Used heater wire is brittle and cracks or breaks easily.

Everything is working on the Dryer but it has a very strong. "Burnt" smell inside and it gets on the laundry. What is causing it to have that Burnt smell?

burnt smell like rubber or like lint burning whens the last time you delinted your dryer? A dryer should actually be delinted at least once a year maximum I personally delint mine every 4 months with a family of 4 lint doesn't just go on you lint screen and away it goes unscrew that bottom panel and with a flashlight have a look inside on the other hand if it is a burnt wire smell you probably want to look near the through the same spot but on the left side back where the heater is located usually one of the wires connecting to the heater ends up singeing or a thermistor blows out you will get this smell if you happen to have the model number i could send you a schematic of how it comes apart if you have any further questions message me back and please remember when our chat has concluded to rank how this opinion has helped it how im able to help others in similar situations in the future Thanks again Rick

Working but no heat ...... not drying clothes.. works but cold air

Most of the time this is a burnt wire or just a loose wire. Pull the drier out from the wall and unplug it. pull the back cover and look at all the wiring closely. You may need a vacuum to clean things up a bit. Start at the bottom looking at wire ends and or connections for that brunt look (brown to black and brittle) wires moving up. Now you can also have a bad heater coil they do go bad. Look for large wires with a ceramic washer, some machines you can pull the coil out as a unit and check for a break in the coil. Look for a plate that bolts in with these large wires on it that may have what looks like a slide compartment. Check these things if you find a burnt wire see if you can replace the end, use a crimp on end - you can buy a kit from most any auto parts store with more than enough ends to last.
