Question about Fisher and Paykel Fisher Paykel Intuitive Eco Washer IWL15

1 Answer

My Fisher & Paykel intuitive eco washing machine starts the drain pump as soon as the power is turned on and continues pumping when no water present. It also displays "help, i need water" at the start of the rinse cycles. This can be cleared by pressing the start/pause switch sometimes or force the machine to the next stage in the cycle.

Hi - this is a strange one - I could be wrong here but I think that theres two likely possibilities for you - first is the motor controller board could be faulty - it may have a short on the switch ic for the drain pump - the other is there maybe an air lock or blockage to the pressure tube - remove the display panel to access the clear tube - unclip it & blow into towards the bowl to see if theres a blockage.

You say as soon as the start switch is pushed the pump runs continously? or does it come on as soon as the power button is pushed? either way I think the controller maybe faulty - haven't come across aything like this one before...

Cheers

Hi We paid for a service man (needed clean clothes) who found problem to be the main controller board as you suggested. He also hadn't seen this problem before where a "plug" had come out and some water had caused a small short circuit. He thinks it may have been caused by one of the earthquakes we have been having in Christchurch (house pretty much on top of one of the fault lines) shaking the c**p out of the machine.

If you wired the pump directly with a lead and 230V supply and it works ok, then doesn't work when powered by the control board, I would say that there is a problem with the control board not supplying a full 230V to the pump.

I have a fisher & paykel intuitive eco and on the display screen it reads needs a service code 37 ?

Hello, It sounds like you have a restricted or blocked drain pump. This usually occurs in the outlet of the pump between the pump and the diverter valve. 1st check that the drain hose is not kinked or crushed and does not have too long of an extension on it. If the tub did not drain you will have to bail or otherwise remove the water. Of course unplug the machine before any service. Once that is done, lean the machine backward the drain pump is located under the machine on the right side close to you. unplug the wires to the pump and remove the pump by lifting the small plastic catch and turning the pump assembly a quarter turn counterclockwise. Next disconnect the pump from the hose to the diverter valve. you can also remove the pump hose from the diverter valve and check to see if anything is caught in the valve. That's really all there is to the drain system. Good Luck.

I've got Fisher and Paykel Excellence Top loader 7.5 My problem is, it won't unload or drain water. What do i have to do?

Hi, The washer wont unload or drain water until the drain pump is working. Get the pump off and look for debris. To remove the pump you unlock the tab and twist the pump a hair. The pump is on the bottom of tub.

Fisher & Paykel Intuitive Eco switching itself off during cycle.

Could be a bad drain pump or controller or rotor position sensor. You will need a Tech to take a look. Unfortunately with these machines there can be many reasons for a failure. Call F/P to get a certified technician out there.

The drain pump is overheating. I suggest you do not try to use the machine until you replace the pump unit, failure to stop using the machine will result in the pump short circuiting and destroying the main control board!. Please go buy a new pump and fit it.
