If your router is not working properly what you can do is to first reset the router by pressing the reset button of it for 15 seconds then it will be back to its default settings after that you just need to reconfigure it back just like a new router, and if you still have the setup CD you can run it and let it configure the router back for you... But you're not aware how to configure the router better call Belkin tech support so one of the tech can wlak you through with that process...

Hope that helps.........

The globe keeps flashing orange and I can't connect to the internet because of this

The blinking globe means that the router no longer has access to the Internet. The two most common causes are that:
  1. Your Internet connection is down, or more likely,
  2. You Internet provider has changed your IP address the the modem or router need to be reset to acquire the correct address.

Belkin has a decent site for general troubleshooting located here.
And a more general, but detailed troubleshooting guide can be found here.

My computer no longer recognizes my belkin router as a wifi access point. It's as if it stopped working. Any ideas?

Belkin products are all built from Refurbished materials. It is entirely possible that your wireless access point has simply stopped working. Try going in and restarting the wireless function on your router, you'll need to be plugged directly into the router via an Ethernet cable to do this though, if the wireless is not working.

I have a comtrend ADSL2+Ethernet Router hooked to my desktop Pc and a G-Wireless Router made by Belkin.According to the tech I should be able to connect these two to use my Laptops, but any way I've tried...

You dont need a Belkin Disk to set up - this can be done manually you can get a manual from this site http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/product/list/q/routers/ select G in the first dropdown and then your model - theres two to choose from and then then the version
you have a choice - you could change the comtrend router to just use the modem - bridged mode - they have a few different routers see here http://www.comtrend.com/links/i$residential-adsl2-modem-router$product.htm so not sure which one you have if you can bridge to just use the modem then connect tothe Belkin and all PCs should connect to the Belkin
OR you can connect two routers together Leave the comtrend router set as it is -
Set the IP address of belkin router to same subnet as the comtrend. Depending on the DHCP range of the comtrend router - set the IP outside this range - so if comtrend is set to give an ip of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.100 - set the belkin to 192.168.0.254 Disable the DHCP in the belkin.
Connect the comtrend LAN to one of the Belkin LAN ports - you may need to use a crossover cable. On the belkin the WAN port will be left unconnected

Wireless is working but computer won't connect to the internet

Remove the power cord from the router. Wait 30 seconds. Reconnect the cord. Like rebooting a balky computer.

You may also have other routers nearby on the same broadcast channel.

Occasionally cordless 2.4ghz phones may jam the wireless channels.

Chose another channel from the router setup.

Belkin router F5D7234-4 is no longer connecting with modem. Modem to computer gives internet but when I connect the router NO internet. Done the usual to correct but now I'm ****. Will I have to buy...

You will need to assign a different ip address to the modem - I am assuming that both the router & modem are using the same ip address 192.168.1.1? If that is the case, then assign 192.168.1.2 to the modem. If not working try 192.168.2.2.

You can find out your ip addresses by going START >> Run >> type in "cmd" without the quotes then at the prompt type "ipconfig /all" without quotes.

Router

check you cable connections, try to check if you can go online wired to the router if you are connecting wirelessly. You can also bypass the router and connect directly to the modem to make sure its working.
