Did you try turning it off using a scan tool (a shop would likely have to do that)? Or were you trying to turn it off by disconnecting the battery to reset the computer? Many faults can be cleared with a battery reset but an airbag light has to be turned off with a scan tool. The scan will also tell you which bag is tripping the failure, so you know where to look for a problem if the light won't turn off with a scan tool.

My passenger air bag light stays on how do i get it to go off, and how do i know if there is an air bag on passengers side of my beetle 2000

You will need VAGCOM diagnostic software and a interface lead to connect to the ECU via the OBD2 compliant socket.

The software can be found as freeware but doesn't have all the features of the fully licenced version which can be purchased from here http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/index.html

You can also buy the interface lead from www.ebay.co.uk just search VAGCOM.

VAGCOM can diagnose faults as well as reset them such as your airbag fault. If the fault is genuine then it will need looking at by a specialist.

If you don't want to go down the DIY route then VW dealers will be more than happy to help but will charge loads! Try a non dealer auto diagnostic specailist out of the Yellow pages as they will be a whole load cheaper.

Does your car have a passenger airbag?

I looked on Parkers Website (see link below) and it states driver and passenger airbags are fitted as standard to VW Beetle's.
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/volkswagen/beetle-hatchback-1999.aspx?page=7

Hope this helps and good luck!

Have a 1996 Toyota Camery. Installed a KDG140 JVC stereo/CD player but the stereo won't work. CD player works great.

If "stereo won't work" refers to you not being able to get radio stations; try your antenna connection behind the radio. The vehicle may also have a power antenna connection(blue wire at the stereo).

My merceds c180 won't start and there are no lights onthe dashboard what could this mean?

I had a similar problem with my Honda. Sorry, I can't afford a Merdedes!

Try wiggling the keyswitch back and forth (turning the ignition ON and OFF several times) while watching the dashboard. If the lights flicker, the ignition switch is either bad or dirty.

I removed the switch from the steering column, took it apart and found that it was very dirty. After cleaning the contacts, it has started with no problems for the last 9 months! It saved my a couple hundred dollars.

If you are mechanically inclined, it's not as big of a job as it may sound.

Good luck!

Can u turn off the passagers airbag in a chevrolet kalos 2006

Disabling an airbag in a car is illegal without a waiver from NHTSA. You can apply for one by contacting the NHTSA, but I highly doubt you will be able to receive one unless you have a REALLY good reason to do so. Sorry!

How do i hook up dimmer wire

If by dimmer wire, you mean the orange wire (also known as ''illumination''), 99% of the time, you don't. Otherwise, your brake lights or dash lights etc. could end up staying on. I believe that it's meant more for older older cars, but it's not necessary to hook it up. If that isn't what you meant, I apologize, if it is, I hope it helps!
