Did you try turning it off using a scan tool (a shop would likely have to do that)? Or were you trying to turn it off by disconnecting the battery to reset the computer? Many faults can be cleared with a battery reset but an airbag light has to be turned off with a scan tool. The scan will also tell you which bag is tripping the failure, so you know where to look for a problem if the light won't turn off with a scan tool.

Airbag light

Unfortunately that will need to be checked out by your KIA dealership. The light indicates a malfunction with some part of the system. If you're under 80,000 miles it may be covered under warranty.

Airbag light won't light on dash

Usually if you pull the fuse the light will come on because the system is disabled. You may need to get the airbag module checked out.
Its fairly touchy stuff, you have to be careful not to blow the airbag by mistake when you are working on the system.

Airbag

Yes, the airbag/restraint light is often triggered by a disconnected seat belt safety plug located under the driver's seat. Some people disconnect this plug so the vehicle will not chime the alarm while the seat belt is disconnected.

Airbag light won't go off. On 2007 jeep wrangler x. Clock spring good sensor and computer all been recalibated for air bag

I'm not sure which airbag light is staying on the dashboard light near the speedo & tach, or the passenger airbag deactivation light near the 4-way hazard lights button slow the AC controls.
If it is the passenger seat disabled airbag indicator = look under the passenger seat and locate the wire/it going to your passenger seat. Disconnect/reconnect the plug and test it.
I have knocked mine ou, and caused the Disabled Airbag light to come on by shoving fire extinguishers, & First Aid kits under the seat and knocking it.

The airbag light on our 97 bmw came on a couple days ago and won't go out

1st when the airbag light is on the system is disabled, so if u have an accident they will not work, as to the common cause read below.
When the airbag light is on it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called th clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the wheel

My airbag light won't go off, what could be the problem?

If the warning light is staying on, there is a problem with the system and it is disabled.
You need to have someone scan the body computer to look for trouble codes.

Why won't by airbag light turn off?

Usually the light is telling you there is a problem in the system and the system is disabled.
You may need to get the computer scanned for codes and go from there.

On my 1990 ltd cv air bag lights

Airbag lights are a bit more involved of a process. It could be as simple as getting your airbag control module reset (usually about $100-150) or it could be the result of a different problem. Possible causes for an airbag light are: 1) crash data stored in the airbag control module, requiring reset 2) bad clockspring - this sends data to the airbag inflator module 3) other fault in the SRS system. The only way to be sure what the problem may be is to get the system read for code and go from there. The airbag light will stay on regardless of a manual reset by removing the battery cable because the codes are stored in a different memory than standard trouble codes. Since the car checks the airbag system completely once you start, that is why the light won't go off until the data is erased from the airbag system control module. Once you find out what the cause is, getting the necessary parts and installing them would be simple enough. Do not just reset the system, have it scanned for possible codes first. Having an airbag randomly inflate while driving could prove to be problematic.
