Question about HP Pavilion ze4300 Notebook

Power Problems I have the HP Pav. ze4300. I have just replaced the battery with a new one. However, when the power cord is attached, it will charge and operate the notebook ok some of the time. With out touching the cord, notebook or ANYTHING attached to them, the light goes off. Any suggestions?

I don't know if I am too late. But I think it could be your ac dc plug in the back of your notebook.

Laptop won't charge


Step 1:
If your laptop charger seems broken, it's most likely because the battery will not charge. You plug in the cord, the lights come on, but the charging light doesn't change or blinks repeatedly. When you remove the power cord, the laptop shuts off instantly due to the depleted battery. There's more than one cause for this, and it's not always a broken charger.

Check the connection between the charger and the laptop. It should fit firmly in the DC jack without wiggling. If it is loose, use electrical tape to hold it in place so the charger can receive power. This is a temporary fix, however, because a faulty connection can create sparks and cause a fire or injury. A loose connection will just get worse over time, so have it sent to a DC jack specialist as soon as possible. Turn off the laptop and flip it upside down. Locate the latch that secures the battery and slide open. The battery should pop out; give it a tug if it doesn't. Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol (Methylated Spirits)to the tip of a cotton swab and use it to clean the battery's connectors. Dirt can build up and interfere with the connection, giving the appearance of a broken charger. Let the alcohol dry completely and re-insert the battery. Slide the latch to secure it and plug in the power cord to test it. See if the laptop powers on with the charger only and battery removed. If it does, the battery is the likely culprit and should be replaced. If the charger is truly broken, the only thing to do is to replace it or the power cord attached to it. Look on the bottom and write down the part number. Call the laptop manufacturer for a replacement charger or search for the part number on eBay. If you purchase from anyone other than the original manufacturer, ask for genuine parts to reduce the possibility of problems. Troubleshoot Mag Safe adaptors

Is not charging battery


If the laptop works with the AC Adapter Power Cord ok without any problems except the battery is not charging, then the battery is dead. Batteries only have a useful life, then they have to be replaced.

If the laptop does not work with the AC Adapter Power Cord then either the Power Cord is bad or the DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the laptop is bad. If either of these is bad, a good battery will not charge.

Check your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs into the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

New battery HP g61 is fully charged but not working \


Maybe the AC Adapter Power Cord is not working. If you can't get on the laptop with the power cord then it is bad and the battery might be drained so you have no power source to power up the laptop.
If the laptop works only off the Power Cord and the batteryis not charging, then the battery is dead.

To check to make sure the Power Cord is working remove the battery and let thelatop run for 10 minutes or so.

To check to see if the battery has any charge left in it put the battery in andremove the power cord. If it won't boot or shuts down then the battery is deadand needs to be replaced if the power cord is ok.

Mv acer aspire 3623WXCi turns off when i unplug the power cord with battery attached, is the battery dead and do i need a new one?


when you plug the power cord check and see if the battery shows that its charging ,if the charge level is low allow it to charge fully ,after its fully charged remove the power cord and see if it will go of again .if it goes off then you know the battery is dead if not it might be of low charge or not properly fixed.hope this helps

DV6000 GT375EA#ABU Only powers on from its battery


I have had the same issues with my HP dv6208 laptop. I ended up sending my laptop in at their expense to get it fixed. My suggestion to you is to go to the HP support website and chat or call them. The dv6000 series laptops had several issues with the MB and wireless card. they should replace the failed part for free even if the laptop is past its regular warranty. HP extended the warranties on several of these laptops in this product line because of the failures. You have to tell them the serial number, product number and model and they tell you wether it is covered or not. Otherwise I am pretty sure you are looking at a new motherboard for your laptop. My hp ze4300 will not turn on


Has there been a power surge meanwhile? If so, try unplugging the power cord, press the power button, reconnect power and try booting. Sometimes works.
