Hey, I have a Digihome dv940b set top box that I've had for a couple of years now. For a while it worked perfectly, even after the switch over, but then it just stopped working. When I turn my tv on (an old Hitachi) and try to turn the box on, nothing happens. The light remains red and no matter what I press, it won't turn on. I've fiddled around with the wires, left it for a couple of months, but still nothing. I've changed the batteries, but still nothing. I'd really appreciate it if you could help. Thanks.

This depends on how you want to use your kit, and how many scart plugs you have in your TV and VCR.
If you have 2 scarts in your tv;
Aerial coax goes to digihome aerial in. Aerial out from digihome to aerial in of vcr. Tune vcr into Digihome.
Scart plug from digihome to tv.
Scart plug from vcr to tv.
You can then record what you have selected on your digihome box.
In my humble opinion, it's worth splashing out on a pvr; you have more functionality such as being able to record 1 program and watch another.

This is a common problem. There are several capacitors on the power supply and logic board that are bad. Replacement of these parts has restore all units that I have looked at.

On the power supply I would replace at a minimum:
C14 - 4.7ufd 50v UPW1H4R7MDD
C4 - 1ufd 50v UPW1H010MDD
C8 - 100ufd 25v UHE1E101MED
C10 - 470ufd 16v UHE1C471MPD
C12 - 1000ufd 10v UHE1A102MPD

There are 4 others in the supply that were not grossly bad.
C1 - 22ufd 400v EEU-EE2G220
C7 - 220ufd 25v UHE1E221MPD
C11 - Same as C10
C13 - Same as C10

Logic board:
E5 - 33uf 35v EEU-FM1A471
E6 - Same as E5

Part Numbers of replacement caps are Nichicon or Panasonic.

Note: Caps on the logic board are extremely hard to replace due to the internal ground plane.
