GE 25GH350 television - HOW TO RESET CHANNELS TO RECOGNIZE CABLE???

I purchased a GE 25GH350 television from a hotel and today had my cable service setup. I went and purchased a GE universal remote (which I didn't have to even program) and was able to change channels. However, when I hit the menu button on the TV or remote it only brings up two choices: Controls & Alarms. It does not have an option for me to go in and setup channel. PLEASE HELP!!!

Have the same problem with a ge 25gh350 tv I purchased at a garage sale today. only get 13 channels of static and menu offers the same options. Found out through research this model ONLY comes from hotels and that is why it has restricted access but still searching for solution.

You'll most likely need a Sansui remote made to work with your specific model TV. I have similar problems with my Toshiba TV. Check eBay.

SOURCE: won't receive channels above 18, cable not at fault

Your "tuner" in the menu is set on "off air" or "antenna. It should be set on "cable" or "dish". See if you can go into your menu with the buttons on the set and change your tuner setting. Keever

SOURCE: doesn't get all cable channels

With the menu set to cable signals, the autoprogram should catch all of the cable channels. The Cable Channel option allows you to use either channel 3 or 4 as the "cable" channel. This is when you have an external box that you use to tune in cable rather than the TV directly. The easiest way here is to autoprogram the TV while playing a VCR tape. That will insure that channel 3 is included.

Does the autoprogram fail?

SOURCE: Philips PC7225 hotel TV - can't access the menu to reprogram it.

The code 0621 isn't working for the PC7225 TV on my philips RC19335027 remote. Is there any other code I can try.
Also I purchased an RCA - RCR311BT remote and programmed for the tv and the code 0621 isn't getting me to the setup menu.  Is there any other code I can try or special way to enter the code in to get to that setup menu?
The ultimate goal is to change the default startup station from channel 53 to channel 3. Thanks.

Your best solution is to get rid of that crappy TV! Having an old tube Tv really makes the rooms look bad.

The tv I purchased is from a hotel, and hotel have tv's that only play setain channels. is there a way I can reset the tv to pick up all the prime basic channels?. Hope you can help.

It may be a monitor only with no tuner section of it's own or a customised tuner for receiving a house channelling system, like a company Intranet.
If it has any analogue or even digital inputs, however it was connected in the hotel, you can plug in a DTV decoder box, or satellite dish box etc and get full range of programmes available where you are.

Brought a GE model 27gt722 tv...can not pick up all channels on cable. Usually once you hook up cable wire to tv cable is automatically on ..at least that is how it was on old tv

Depending on the cable company, some like Comcast have gone mostly digital meaning when you connect the TV directly to cable without a cabe box you will only get around 35 channels. The only way to get around that is to get a cable box. If you have Comcast service already they offer what they call a DTV cable adaptor which will allow you to get most cable channels. These DTV adaptors in most areas are free for the first two per household. I hope that helps : )

I got a free tv from a hotel, it has no remote. Can I use a universal remote to add channels to the tv? It only goes to channel 69. Also, can I plug in a dvd player? I can't find anywhere on the tv to plug...

Often these commercial TV's are just vanilla types catering for TV alone. The43 cable channel is possibly the only other alternative that is a money maker for the motel/hotel. They try and prevent people from connecting their own DVD players to their equipment so they are the ones who make the $$.
It is possible to use a Universal remote providing it is capable of being controlled by a remote.
Philips code is 0054 , you can only try!

Digital TV Signal

Not if you cable TV, DirecTV, Dish network, or FIOS. The converters are not usable with those services.

If you use a regular TV antenna or rabbit ears, then, yes, you will need a DTV converter box. If so, I'd suggest getting one well before next February. Why? 'Cause the pictures are better, and you'll have access to "virtual channels", where broadcasters send more than one program on channels like 4.1, 4.2, etc. Also, if you have poor reception, you may need a better antenna to see the DTV signals. Better to know that before DTV is all that is being broadcast over the airwaves.

Trying to get channels above 42 to 99

I had the same problem the solution is you have to get institutional remote and reset the tv from commercial mode to consumer mode and then you will have access to the full menu. go to www.phillipsitv.com to get the directions. I actually asked a Hotel could I borrow their master remote used it and took it back and my tv works fine. Hope this helps.
