Why doesn't my Go Video player work anymore, when nothing happened to it? I just inserted a video one day and nothing! It just wouldn't play when it had played just fine before.

First make certain that somebody (perhaps a child) hasn't been playing with the controls or altering the settings. If they are OK, something might have snapped inside. Video recorders generate a great deal of heat when running this can cause all sorts of faults.

Remote doesn't work

did you ask the company where you bought it ,why it was refurbished and what the problem was, try a universal remote, you might have to program in the code from the book you recieve when buying it, try all the codes for your make and model or look on the internet for a service depot and ask if they can get you a remote for your model t.v.

My tape player doesn't play anymore,

There are end sensors in the unit that are fed by a lamp and they burn out - I am guessing the lamp is out in the center of the tape.
There could be other reasons but without seeing the unit I can not determine remotely. I have repaired thousands of VCR in my 40 years in service.

Remote for Sony vcr works intermittently.

Sounds like the connections inside the remote are damaged and might need soldering. Check the connections around where the battery terminals are carefully. Has a battery leaked in the remote?

Bad recording from any source

The fact that both inputs give you a bad recording indicates its something common to both inputs. First thing I would do is try cleaning the heads. It's the cheapest solution to try. There is also an erase head as well, but that is usually not part of the video head. The erase head erases the tape just prior to the record head recording the new material on the tape. Problems in the erase head will cause you to see both what you just recorded and what was previously on the tape. The picture will be distorted and shifting back and forth between the new program and the previous one.

Good luck!

Problem with my vcr Hitachi VT-MX 848E(AU) G-code

What speed are you recording at? VCR's with more than 2 heads use different heads at different speeds. Try recording at all speeds and see it that makes a diference on playback.
