Its a problem with the immobilisor i think ,in the back drivers side behind a panel is a bosch vehicle immobilisor and the relays for the doors are in here but before you play check the door lock itself as the contacts or operating mechanism inside the door could have broke away from corrosion or the plastic clips have gone brittle allowing a shaft to come loose which will cause the problems you describe so take a door panel off and have a look for a possible cause

Driver door won't close 1999 ford contour

Drivers side door will not close because, it might have dropped out of alignment and is sagging down slightly!!! or if it has electric door locks, and someone in the family has failed to mention door locks were activated while that one door was still open!!! now lock mechanism has passed it's normal stopping place and is now stuck, therefore already locked and not allowing door to close all the way!! you might try disconnecting battery then try jiggling the lock, and hope silenoid didn't get burned out, open passenger door and look at lock latch, then check drivers side lock latch!!! if your lucky lock latch should unlock when battery is hooked back up. i have seen this problems happen often on older vehicles!!! especially on cars or trucks that have been in fender benders.........body shops know what to check for, they fix problems like this often!!!!! Good luck!!

I have a 2006 GMC Envoy Denali. The power locks on both the rear passenger side wont unlock automatically. i have to manually unlock it. although the automatic lock option works. All the other doors work...

both the rear passenger side wont unlock ???? How many doors are on the passenger side ? Or both back doors don't unlock ? Two relays lock / unlock the back door's Not the lift gate . The BCM controls the relay's . The relay's are located in the rear fuse box . Under back seat .

Door wont unlock when i put key in

I believe your problem is directly related to the elecrical contacts in the door key lock itself. I understand that the door locks but wont unlock. If the switch in the lock tumbler it self is not defective you may have other electrical problems in this circuit. do you have the same problem on the passenger door or is it specific to the drivers side only

1999 Ford Explorer Door Locks

Unfortunately, This is a very common problem with Ford Explorers! Ford replaces the locks when it encounters this issue. I managed to unseize my passanger door and tailgate lock, but the drivers door lock is broken beyond repair. You can purchase new remotes for your explorer and program them very easily. Just google ford key fobs...

Check the wiring between the drivers door and the A pillar(the body of the car). Sometimes the harness breaks from opening and closing the door.
